I got distracted yesterday and today I did some business calls, which usually take the wind out of the sails of my writing. I'm easily distracted. Expect a makeup chapter on sat-sun.

To make up for not posting for a couple days, I'll share some thoughts & plans.

Going forward, I'd like to write the climax of the conflict between Tom and the Great Houses, and get his daughter back, then write a resolution with a good hook so I can set it down and do something else for a while.

This should take 10-20 chapters.

My current train of thought is that at the end, Tom will return to Earth, lapsing the story back towards a more urban fantasy, with the primary villain going forward being Carol's brother who is in control of the president.

If you can think of a better direction for the third Arc, I'm all ears.

Before the third arc, I'd like to try my hand at writing a superhero story. There's a lot about superhero stories that don't resonate naturally with me. I find it hard to write about slice of life sprinkled with battles where no one dies, and powerful, comprehensive worldbuilding is difficult for me, and making sure that all the sidekicks and villains have their own unique backstory and powerset is a juggling act that I don't think I'm up to.

Which is part of why I want to do it. so many aspects of superhero stories are what I'm weak at. Therefore doing it will help strengthen my skills as a writer. I think.

I also just have the bug and wanna get it out of my system.

my current Idea is The MC is a Tinker who uses technology/machines to abuse ritual magic to an astronomical degree.

Basically my favorite kind of character, but in a superhero setting.

Let me know if you think it would be funny for the main character to launch a canister at foes that defiles the image of a wrathful deity a thousand times a second upon impact, triggering a reflexive smiting at the location of the shell.

It will be a LitRPG for reasons that will make a little bit of sense, and the way the system works will draw heavy inspiration from Generic System.

XP = potential for change, or Impact.

I'm going to introduce HP as a shield mechanic, as in you don't die when you run out, but you can't face-take artillery anymore or you'll become red mist.

TLDR: Soulmonger's got 10-20 chapters until the end of book 2, then I wanna write a litRPG super story.

Let me know what you think!

Also if you wouldn't mind finding and upvoting this review on RR, that would help the story gain a little more traction on the site.

unless that's against the rules. In which case I didn't ask you to do that.

excellent!

I found and highly enjoyed the author’s “systems of  the apocalypse” series on kindle, and so I looked here to see what else  the author had written, and I’m so glad I did. This is great! Believable  characters, interesting world building, and fun page-turner action.  Highly recommended! Recent entries have changed the story up some, and I  can’t wait to see where it goes from here.
