What happens next on book 4? Epilogue, publication, breakdance, Borg is best girl?

Next I write an epilogue that undercuts the high point slightly, reiterating that Jeb is not an all-powerful contract holder, but basically just a normal guy waiting for the other shoe to drop. You can expect staring at the ceiling, shopping for shoes/feet with Vresh and maybe a visit from Vex.

Then editing a few things that Bardus had an issue with (because I did too, honestly), then publication, then breakdance. Borg will never be best girl.

Does WotR have any future? Will we ever see Nadia again? Can Nadia be pulled to Pharohs empire by Pikaku looking for a human capable of controlling Jeb? How much will it cost to make this happen?

Wow. It will take a very specific set of circumstances for WotR to come back. The series, and the one that came before it were my attempt to ‘dial in’ my writing, to learn what people responded to and how much lewd I could get away with before people started yelling at me.

I’m not exactly sure what would cause it to get picked up, but maybe if there was some kind of long-term emergency where I needed to get 4 books out in a month (like if I got someone pregnant), WotR is slightly more polished than outer Spheres, and could be packaged up to go in short order. After which, if they did very well, I would probably be prodded into continuing them.

When will we start seeing GSA book 5 chapters?

I don’t want to put a timer on that. I’ve got plans to write a second teen necromancer book and at least one other story that’s been rattling around in my head. The amount of time that would take probably precludes the writing of any book 5 chapters.

Basically I need some rest from GSA to recover my enthusiasm, and I need a good idea for the next book. I have neither of those things yet, so it will be a while. Short estimate is a year and a half, but with those kind of time frames, I have no idea what I’ll be doing then.

Will Jeb ever get his leg healed?

No, it’s fun to have him be a cripple. Plus he can fly at will, so *shrug* there's no strong in-universe motivation to seek that out.

Where did Casey III put bomb chan?

Bomb chan exploded. The devastation was more metaphorical than physical. I just…have to figure out what exactly it was.

Are you taking a break? When should we expect to see you again.

Well, editing is going to take a couple weeks, but once I’m in the groove, I’ll probably start releasing Soulmonger chapters to keep you guys entertained in the meantime.

Is there more art coming for book 4?

For some reason, my writing style does not inspire fan-art. This is something that I have accepted with a heavy heart. As for the cover pic, I got the final revisions from the artist, and we’re going ahead with the cover. So…I guess you’ll see it when it comes out on amazon? It’s not too much different than ver. 2.

With the potential of the bomb being removed from Jebs myst, will he begin his tutelage under the Sindio (however you spell that)?

Yes, apprenticeship probably will be a factor of book 5.

How will his potential servitude under a deity affect his standing within society and with its upper echelon?

I’m pretty sure he’s not gonna tell anybody he doesn’t have to about that. But if he did, yeah, it probably wouldn’t go well.

Will we get a honeymoon book for Jeb? With Smartass proclaiming feelings for Jeb and his impending marriage, does this make the book harem??

I’m going to try to avoid a harem. And if Smartass became a love interest, he would have to definitively cease to be her owner/legal guardian because that’s just weird.

I realize this is totally aside but do you have any plans to publish your older works in a book? I love those stories on RR but would like them more in a complete ebook.

Those are my emergency blubber books to launch if I get a huge fire lit under my ass in the form of a baby or my mother’s house burning down. Something of that nature.

Is it difficult to have so many different people with different perspectives giving you advice on where a story should go? Is it a beneficial form of crowdsourcing ideas, or is it just kind of annoying? ✌️

It’s all of those things. That’s where a large portion of the work of the job lies. You trawl through the comments like you’re dredging for gold, and every now and then you’ll get this amazing thing that you didn’t think of that resonates perfectly with your vision of the story, and make no mistake, those comments are worth all the time and effort.

But for the most part its, just mild tedium, not particularly good or bad.

When will the necromancy story pickup again?

A week or two into the month, I’m guessing.

What inspired the magic system in System Apocalypse, WOTR, and your other stories? Would love to know if this came from other stories you like/recommend.

In system apocalypse, I wanted to make an interesting form of magic that had stages of matter, and could be manipulated with lenses and piping.

WOTR was more typical LitRPG with single abilities granted by the System one at a time, but then I realized I needed an explanation for how they came to be, which landed on the universe being Warped and Bent being the universe adapting that non-euclidean energy to our rules, because the word Mana is overused. Like. Seriously overused.

Outer sphere I was like ‘Plant based magic is always women. I bet I could make a dude use it.’ Seriously. That was about the extent of my thought process. And apocalypse litrpgs were all the rage at the time.

Soulmonger, I wanted to make a new kind of necromancy without using the N-word.

So most of my magic systems stem from a desire to make a more original version of something. As for inspirations, too many to count. I was reading those Japanese isekais for a good 3-4 years before I started Outer Spheres, and American Sci-fi/fantasy blends for about 20 years before that. (Plus a ton of video games)

Why do I hate blueberry-cheesecake??

It’s the texture flavor combo. Those oversized, nearly tasteless farm grown berries have been smooshed down into a lifeless paste, solidified with pure sorrow and rendered into a solid chunk of disappointment.

I believe there are a few less leads regarding myst lenses & indirect contracts (guiding, demons, myst corruption & the missing "Holy" myst), and would like to read if and how you plan to work with it

Umm….Well…That’s a big question. I haven’t addressed demons yet at all, and they would be right at home with how the magic has worked thus far. They might obey contract magic reminiscent of fairies, but a whole lot meaner.

‘holy’ Myst, I’m not sure it exists. Healing Myst exists and might be considered ‘holy’ but it’s really just stemming from the person. Could be a case of good branding for the gods. On the other hand, priests whose prayers are answered by a divine entity who then makes something happen…you could consider that ‘holy’ myst.

As for guiding, I kinda planned to have Jeb get some juice from that kid he saved in the noble district, but I forgot. I could add it in at the end without too much difficulty. (he’s gonna be an undead hunter when he grows up)

Any chance we'll get to see the further adventures of a certain Phytomancer?

Unlikely. Outer Sphere is my first official work and it’s…not great. As I’ve said to other people who asked similar questions. Extenuating circumstances could force me to pick it up again, but the chances are slim.

I'm not that good at visualizing people from written descriptions. Any chance of a picture that sorta resembles Jeb? I don't really know what a strong brow looks like.

You know, I don’t really have a definitive idea what Jeb looks like either. I just like poking fun at him not being perfect. Makes me laugh.

So we know he’s white, middle height, short brown hair, green eyes, not particularly handsome or ugly, with a bit of a jutting brow bone. Not completely neanderthal, but faintly visible. Jeb’s got just a splash of throwback because (surprise!) he kind of is.

Yeah so just look up a picture of a neanderthal in a suit. That’s (not) Jeb.

What was your favourite thing about living in alaska?

The summer in Alaska is amazing. The sun is warm, and the breeze is cool. You can go outside and do whatever the hell you want without having to worry about heatstroke, and you can do it all freaking day because the sun doesn’t go down for more than an hour or two.

Moose-meat spaghetti.

Fishing at the grandparent’s lodge.

On the other hand, people joke that Alaskan Mosquitos are the state bird. Those things are HUGE compared to the rest of the country. They will try to suck the joy out of the summer. Don’t let them.

What is your dream writing setup?

I don’t think I’m well-enough versed in what I do and don’t like to know what it is. Lemme give it a shot anyway.

Rocking chair.

Decent sized monitor for my poor eyesight.

Wireless keyboard.

Ice-cold energy drink to sip on.

forced air heater gently blowing on my feet.

Something like that.

The computer itself is a non-issue, because a brick can run Microsoft word.

What does your perfect day look like?

I don’t think I can describe my perfect day publicly, but I can tell you it involves (legal) drugs and my wife. If you know what I mean. *wink*

Man, I wanna go into more detail, but...no.

Let's just say it would be fun.

Will you create a newsletter to inform about new books and or merchandise?

That’s kind of what patreon does for me already. If you would prefer I get a separate mail service, I could be persuaded, but I would take a huge hit in the number of people I can reach, because a large percentage of people who I could reach on patreon would simply not bother to join the newsletter.

Are you still unlocking patreon for x ahead people as you post on RR?

Umm….Did I forget to do that last night? The answer to your question should always be YES. If not, please contact management.

Last night, and the night before... and the night before. 19 and 20 are now open, but 18 is still locked. Please and thank you!

I see you skirted the question about the costs to summon Nadia to GSA, I hope it means she is coming, if not, how much $$?

Arnon Parenti

How can fanart be sent to you? Do you prefer email?

Macronomicon

It's not really a question of money so much as it is a question of responsibility. If i do that, I feel like it erodes the suspension of disbelief and immersion, as well as half a dozen other things that it's hard to describe. I just don't feel like that would be a good move for the series as a whole.

I finally know why I hate blueberry cheesecake!, in winter, but why do I like them on every second wednesday in summer??

Macronomicon

Sounds like religious self-flagellation. But seriously, I'm not sure. Best answer I can do is that's when you visit your grandma and she makes it better?

Happy to hear everything that's going on, can't wait for some more necromancy.

Carl Mason

No holy myst? You already have Bible-thumping myst, it isn't a long jump to Holy. I suppose it would require the right source/interface to become feasible. Maybe Holy myst is specifically of the gods?

Love your work .. been rereading your other work and was wondering if you was going to finish outer sphere .. looks close

You had made a previous post mentioning your involvement with Sara King and the Zero novels. I've had so much fun reading those novels since 2013. She mentioned in her latest Zero book the struggles she has had. I just wanted to say how much I look forward to seeing new works by both of you. I hope you both can continue writing such amazing stories, as I so love to devour the great works you both make. :)
