This video hit me on a personal level. The very ending of the video legitimately brought me to tears. A couple years ago I was in a similar situation. My phone was almost shut off, I was behind on my car payments, with rent and utilities I was barely scraping by, and most days I was eating single meals - if even that. I was to proud to ask for money from family because I felt like I was a failure and I didn't want to disappoint them. Once I finally hit my breaking point my parents revealed that when I was a kid they made me a rainy day fund. It was enough that it all of my bills were current and I still had money left. I'm much more stable now thankfully. I have a better job, made a couple good investments, and am much smarter with my money. No video has ever reached me on this level. Thank you Scott. While I know this video was personal to you, I needed to hear a lot of what you had to say too.

Scott, thanks so much for sharing this. You are a brave and beautiful person to be so open with the internet about these issues. I can relate to the issues you talked about with family unintentionally causing someone to internalize characteristics of themselves. I went through a similar period of struggling financially after college but thankfully I'm doing much better now. The bigger internalization I still deal with was being told over and over again how I was the "responsible one" by my alcoholic father. It wasn't until 20 years later I realized it was just an excuse for him to not be responsible for his alcoholism. Ironically, his favorite character is Thor but I don't think he'd understand this video. While watching Endgame in theaters, the scene between Thor and Frigga really touched me and I wasn't really sure why. Watching your video brought all that back and made me tear up all over again and I think I have a better understanding of why. Thanks for opening yourself up and sharing this with us.
