Free Comic Book Day is the happiest day of the year for us comics fans! We were lucky enough to be able to sit down with the founder of FCBD, Joe Field, and pick his brain about the origin and history of the annual event. He discusses how the idea became a reality, what happened during those crucial first few years, and how it's become such an international event that actually saves lives! Plus, stick around at the end for a revelation about how and why 2004's Free Comic Book Day was changed to July instead of the first Saturday in May like usual. It's a fun episode, and we know you'll enjoy it! Also, make sure you check out http://www.freecomicbookday.com/ to find a participating comic shop near you, and to see what free comics are offered this year. Head on out and pick up some free comics this year on May 2nd, and invite a friend along so they too can explore the amazing world of comic books! iTunes: http://nerdsyn.cc/JoeField SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/nerdsyncpodcast/joe-field
