Agent Phil Coulson is a pretty important character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it was only a matter of time before they introduced Coulson into the comics with a 6-issue mini-series called Battle Scars! In this story, Coulson is given the nickname "Cheese". It's never explained in the comic why this is, but luckily there was an interview done with one of the writers of the comic, Chris Yost, about why exactly Agent Phil Coulson is called "Cheese".
