CM Update: Venom! (Patreon)

Comic Misconceptions is coming back on the 14th and I'm finally going to tackle a character that everyone has been asking for what seems like years, Venom! We're going to do this REAL Origins style, so I'll be talking more about the fascinating (and incredibly dense) history of the character from the perspective of the industry and creative team behind him. This is the kind of stuff that I want to do more of this year, so I hope you enjoy! To clarify, I will not really be talking about his appearances and adventures in the comics or his powers or hosts. Arris at Variant already did a stellar job of that a long time ago, and I have nothing to add to the info that he was able to present. So as a precursor, it wouldn't be a bad idea to watch that video to understand who Venom is and where he stands in the comics before we dive into the slightly more complicated story of how he came into existence in the first place.
