Thanks to all who came out for yesterday's Live chat. I'm developing a new production schedule to hopefully do these more often, aiming for once a month. Since it's a way to be accessible for all €3+ patrons to come and ask me anything, I'd like to offer that more regularly. Yesterday's recording is here, with approximate timecode markers below. I hope they can be helpful.

Timecode:

  • 00.00 - Intro
  • 00.50 - What's the difference between honesty and oversharing? Some questions to consider when finding the line for each relationship
  • 13.50 - How can you get better at not spiraling with worst case scenarios?
  • 20.25 - How do you find balance during obsessive new relationship energy?
  • 25.35 - What do you suggest when polyamory makes sense intellectually but there's still so much nervous system activation?
  • 31.15 - About the video on Spotting Boundary Pushers Early, are there any updates since a few months have passed?
  • 34.20 - How do you know when self-proclaimed non-hierarchical people are telling the truth?
  • 41.10 - When a partner dates your friend, how do you evolve that friendship to include a metamour element?
  • 47.15 - How or when do we use terms like "lover" or "partner", while trying to also not play into mononormative labels / expectations?
  • 50.40 - Advice for dating, especially as a couple, outside of the apps?
  • 55.50 - How do you know when it's time to break up with someone?

Around the nonhierarchical question, I continue to see your shift towards the term "anti-hierarchical" as much more useful, and active. I try to bring that into conversations regularly, even just political discussions that unrelated to polyamory and nonmonogamy. But bringing that notion of it as an active process vs. a level that has been unlocked forward and seeing how people think about that seems like a helpful way to enter into discussion of what is currently happening, what has happened, and expectations around folks doing work, as opposed just saying, "I'd never do that" or "that's not how I operate."
