Happy new year!

Some exciting news. I'm kicking off a new series of video essays about non-monogamy in film and tv (a few of which I covered years ago in written Patreon reviews, but I'll retire those versions as I go). Polyam media analysis will gradually become a big focus of my work. We need examples, and I can only offer my own, so let's look at non-monogamy in pop culture, and see what we see!

I'm also launching a podcast with a partner in the Spring, where we'll collect an anthology of real-world polyam stories.

Long form resources and Patron-only Live chats will stay in the weekly rotation, too. The next Patreon Live Chat will be NEXT SUNDAY - January 7th at 11AM pdt L.A. / 2PM est N.Y. / 8PM cest Berlin. The link will go out that morning. You can join at any point during the hour and ask whatever you want.

I hope you enjoy this first media analysis. I'd love to know what you think.

I just started watching your film reviews, out of order, and it seems these poly movies don't show much if any sex. And I think that's great. Sex is just one part of a poly relationship and it would distract from showing the emotional work required for a healthy poly relationship (honestly for any relationship). I'm so glad you'd doing this

Thanks! Well i think it says more about Hollywood’s struggle to do both. Wholesomeness or emotional commitment are often de-sexualized in US media, which can imply they don’t coexist. So I’m also hunting for examples of loving, complex and harmless sluttiness too 😅

I agree totally, I have pretty low expectations for Hollywood and basic US media
