Hi cutie,

Over the last week or so, I've ended 2 significant relationships in my life. One is short term, the other long term. One is romantic, the other non-romantic. I'll offer my experience with being "all give, no take" in these dynamics, and how I'm removing myself. Maybe that will be of service to you.

Thank you for sharing this. I also recently ended two relationships last month (one romantic, one non-romantic) due to lack of reciprocity. And, after much deliberation, I ALSO chose to block because I could identify my vulnerability to being drawn back in. So much of what you’ve said here mirrored my own needs/fears/thought processes around those decisions. It was extremely validating to hear you talk about it all. So thank you, deeply.

I think the block feature is useful in these situations because you’re affirming that the line is drawn. You’ve made the decision for your own peace, and it is not open for negotiation. You’re not inviting any further hurt. I think that “ending” a relationship with the hope of the other person begging for a reconciliation is more dangerous / unhealthy than closing the lines of communication using the block button.
