yes i was waiting for this

Ghost

I haven't started watching it yet but I must express my excitement before hand! I hope you love it, my fellow SHINee stan. Will follow up afterwards with additional thoughts--- After watching: You're right, y'all reacted to the SWC IV live of Excuses Me Miss and you also did Sleepless Night (the live from SWC III). Otherwise SWC IV has a lot of the songs from these albums- and a number of them are under the live requests so I can't wait for y'all to see the various performances. I think Nightmare had the same feelings as the first set because it was the connecting song before moving on (it's one of my favorites). Jonghyun wrote the lyrics for Spoiler (listing every song that would be included on the two projects lol), Selene 6:23 (Selene is moon in greek and on 6/23/13 there was a super moon where the distance between the moon and earth is smaller), Dangerous, Better off, and Orgel (Japanese for music box hence the continued references to winding, spinning, and the hypnotic feel). I'm a little sad you weren't feeling Orgel. -crying face- I always thought the production and singing went really well together. I'm not trying to change your mind but here is a snippet of Jong's word concerning the song: "Perhaps I have a bad taste but I have put in a lot of wicked stories within the lyrics that seem beautiful in the eyes of others. The lyrics of "Orgel" was written after watching "House of Wax". I am interested in things like a character that has lost his mind due to the obsession with love. I have a lot of lyrics that was written after watching movies and books about that kind of thriller or horror. I wanted to create a spooky atmosphere in the lyrics of "Orgel" with a male protagonist as the narrator who keeps restraining the person he loves." Thanks for sharing your thoughts and appreciating the guys individually and as a group. I can't choose which album was my favorite, since my highlights are spread pretty evenly across both. I'm curious how your reactions would have changed if you listened to the albums separately. I never thought of requesting it like that. Ahahaa! Thanks for sticking with it. <3 <3

I am so glad you did this repackage... it is packed with so many great songs! I really enjoyed watching. Thank you so much for appreciating our SHINee boys!

StreetNoise

"Why so Serious" is one of my faves! One where it pays to read subs too since the lyrics are so clever and unexpected. Zombie love story? 😁

React to f(x) "Pink Tape" album

StreetNoise

I love "Orgel" too! It's so deliciously eerie. A perfect experimental B-side hidden gem.

Georgia Young

I love how much you love Onew's voice! Is he your SHINee bias Ace? :)

Ghost

This was also the year (2013) that SHINee finally got their Artist of the Year award and the guys were so overwhelmed. They worked so hard.

StreetNoise

This may be my favorite year for SHINee stuff! Although I was going over in my head what my favorite year in kpop was and at first I hit upon 2011 til I remembered SHINee was pretty much in Japan that year so no Korean releases. So I've now come to the conclusion that 2010 is my fave year cause you had good releases from Super Junior, SHINee, Girls Generation, Infinite, Kara, Orange Caramel, CN Blue, T-ara, Secret, Miss A, f(x), Rainbow, 2NE1, After School, etc. I now have gone wildly off topic but I think it's every kpop fan's duty to spend time pondering what their favorite year in kpop is. lol

Glad you enjoyed it! It really is stacked with great songs. I still can’t believe the amount of quality music they have released. Its amazing. - Ace

The live performance of each of these songs improves on the CD version (Girls Girls Girls live is even cuter) . You guys really need to check out a full concert. In my opinion their discography is one of the strongest across all of pop not just kpop.

Yen

Wow you really did all 20 songs Ace!! I'm a proud patron of an OG 😁 I've been listening to kpop since i was about 15, and i'm 25 now lol. Although I had a fadeout for 5 years.. mostly all throughout college I blocked kpop altogether cus college was hard especially when you're an accounting major 😆, so 2013 was the last kpop year for me. Onew was my bias then. I missed out on a lot of stuff and just joined back in the kpop world last year. After I caught up on all the SHINee stuff (group and solo), I already went through each member as my bias and finally settled with Jonghyun as my ultimate. However with each live performance I watch, every member bias-wrecks me everytime.. cuz now my bias is Taemin lol, i keep switching. So I really get what you mean in the end that each member stands out with their talents and personalities. SHINee is my ultimate ultimate and i mean forever. Their discography is vast, versatile, advanced but also timeless, and their passion and sincerity always shows. I love that they have a unique identity, both musically and with their personal relationship with each other and the fans. A lot of these has been performed in SWC III. Trust me, every SHINee song you're not into in the first listen, you will like after you see a live performance. Even Spotify knows SHINee lives are gold 🤣 SWC 3&4 are all in there. Most favorite song here is Excuse Me Miss, least fave is Nightmare (Sorry @Ghost). Next album: Married to the Music repackage please 😊

girls girls girls live is so hilarious and cute .. i agree with u about SHINee discgraphy

XSHINeeBAP

i can't wait till u guys see the live performances of these songs because their lives are crazy and hype af .. i hope u react to SHINee reality shows and behind the scenes so u can see more of their personalities <3

StreetNoise

I've always gone back & forth on who my SHINee bias is! After seeing Onew's legendary aegyo on Weekly Idol I said "Enough! I'm making you my bias wrecker, okay?" except I still didn't have a bias. Then I thought..."Am I friend zoning Onew when he's actually mean to be my bias?" *cue the swelling orchestral music* Things are so much easier in Super Junior when I came up with the brilliant scheme of having a bias in every subunit (5 subunits) and it doesn't even matter that most of the subunits aren't active anymore. You'd think it'd be easier with only five members in SHINee but it ain't....

Seven

Yo, I know I'm really late getting here, but I just wanted to say A) a sincere thank you for taking so much time out to do this album listen. I've been loving SHINee since 2011 or 2012, and there were still a couple of songs on there even I had not heard. And then B) SHINee I think is the King of making you listen to a song and think, 'eh, I don't know if that's my thing' and then you listen two or 3 more times or you listen to the live and come back saying, 'turn it up, this is my jam!' haha. I think it is amazing how they can do that. With this album in particular, I'm really not a huge fan of the mixing side of it, and I'm starting to realize it's because they evened out their vocals too much. They really, truly shine on stage because their vocals get brought up on stage, not just the person who is singing the main line. And i just think it is crazy how often I end up loving the live performance so much more than the recorded studio version. I can't think of any other group that I feel that way about, honestly.

I know I'm late, but I can't get any of these links to work. I've tried everything. Any help?

I have to reupload them. I have been in the process of organizing my Google drive. I will have these up asap and will notify when it is back up! - Ace

I really agree. There are some SHINee songs I go back to like “Damn...that’s is CRAZY!” Lol. Songs can definitely hit different after multiple listens...especially for a album this long! - Ace

rainasoarus

the links don’t work anymore :( happy you listened though! <3
