Before our spring never fails to make me cry.

I think the album is a good picture of his mindset before his death. "Before Our Spring" feels like the final goodbye, especially since he killed himself in winter. At least he tells us in "Shinin" that he'll "always be with you". There's a music video for that song too, even though I've always thought there looks to be a deep sadness in his eyes. Even though the album was released after his death he made sure he had recorded everything &amp; filmed the music video so he definitely wanted this stuff heard.

"She Is" will forever be my favorite Jonghyun Album. You should check out the rest of it as well. On this album: Waffle has my favorite lyrics followed by Sightseeing, and Grease. Only One You Need, Take the Dive, Sightseeing, and Just for a Day are my favorite songs to just listen to. Rewind is, sadly, the only Jonghyun song I ever skip and that hurts my soul. Still my favorite voice in Kpop. The man took risks and didn't let rankings or popularity effect what he wanted to make and share: "I want to write songs which contain my own feelings. And I want to pour myself into my music. I won't be swayed by music charts. It is a lie to say that I do not feel pressured at all. I think all the pop singers feel pressured to achieve a success. However, I don't think such a thought has an effect on my music. I just want to let people hear my songs. (2016)"

A lot of fans think that Before Our Spring was a reference to his Seasonal Affective Disorder, which he admitted to struggling with on his radio show. It's a type of depression that's related to changes in the seasons.

Before Our Spring lyrics really hit me hard too. Especially the "i'm afraid i'm contagious" part, it just broke my heart when i first read that. The last lyric too.. like it was unfinished, like he didn't want to continue the sentence. He had always poured his whole heart to every song he writes. I hope spring has come for him.. wherever he may be 🌸

This album was his last message to fans. Grease if I am not mistaken, was for his father. They are both estranged. Shawols would know the details. So each song in this album is actually a message. Jjong always has a message to share in his music. He always tell the truth in his songs. Thank you for this reaction. Please react to more of his stuff. Jjong has a vast variety of discography. I saw Dame already react to Jjong’s She is album. You should listen to that too.

Yeah, he avoided talking about his father much- he pretty much disappeared at some point. He mentions some childhood stories with him but after that it was just him, his mom, and sister. Jonghyun started taking care of them by himself really early on. He doted on them so much.
