Chapter 32 – A Star That Can Never Return to the Sky

Lucy was sitting at the temporary bar at the Fairy Tail build site. She’d spent the entire morning snuggled in Natsu’s arms for the Dragon Soul Ritual and had decided to come help out with the rebuilding afterwards. The Celestial Spirit Mage was having a quick lunch before she started helping out with the work and was chatting with Lisanna who was helping man the temporary bar.

“So, have you thought about your Element at all, Lucy?” Lisanna smiled at her soon-to-be Dragon Sister.

“There’s a few that I’m considering.” Lucy admitted, having been mulling it over for the last couple of days since she’d made her decision to become a Dragon Slayer and Natsu’s Mate. “All of them have their pros and cons, of course, so it’s hard to choose what will be the most helpful for my future.”

“Mhmm, it’s not always as easy a decision as mine was.” Lisanna sympathized with Lucy’s trouble deciding. “Fire Dragon Slayer Magic was the best choice for me because it gave me inherently greater offensive capabilities to pair with my Animal Soul Takeover.”

“Since I’m a Celestial Spirit Mage, I have Spirits that can use different elements and fighting styles. I can use their Star Arms to mimic them to an extent as well, but that makes picking an element for myself difficult.” Lucy sighed, resting her cheek on her palm.

“Say, is Loke here?” A woman’s voice questioned from further down the temporary bar.

A group of women were all standing in front of the bar facing a confused Mira. Seven women, each one pretty and of a different ‘type’ (to use dating terms), were either staring sharply at Mira or looking around the construction area for Loke.

“Where’s Loke?”

“Loke is being awful recently!”

“Who do all of you think you are?!”

“I could ask you the same thing!”

“Loke! Where are you?!”

“What the heck?” Lucy blinked at the commotion.

“They’re girls from town.” Happy spoke up while gliding over to land on the bar. “They all consider themselves to be Loke’s girlfriend.”

“Last night he suddenly hit me with a break-up speech!” One woman declared.

“Aagh! I hate to say it, but he did the same with me!” A second woman complained.

“Me too!” A third woman wiped at her teary eyes.

“He even did the same with me!” A fourth woman exclaimed.

“What the hell, Loke?” Lisanna looked completely baffled by the playboy’s sudden actions.

“Why would he suddenly say something like that?!” One of the women slammed her hands on the bar top.

“How about you all calm down?” Mira requested, trying to remain polite.

“It couldn’t be that he’s found somebody else, could it?!” One of the women demanded.

“I doubt it…” Mira’s eye began to twitch at the group of women’s behavior.

“Who is it?! Is it someone in this guild?!” The next woman practically leaned over the counter as she practically accused Mira with the look in her eyes.

“Listen up.” Mira growled, her Magic power surrounding her in a chilling black-purple aura. The group of women instantly shut up and took a step away from the bar. “I don’t know where Loke is. We’re currently not accepting Quests at Fairy Tail, so if he’s not in town then it’s not because he’s working. Settle your relationship issues with him elsewhere, got it?” The She-Devil was in full force as she glared darkly at the women in front of her.

“Yes ma’am!” The seven women replied before rushing out of the construction area in a panic.

“It is odd though…” Lisanna looked confused at what had occurred. “I’ve never known Loke to break up with a girl before.”

“He has been showing up less and less here too.” Lucy realized after thinking over the last few days. “Not that he ever hung around me much at all after finding out that I’m a Celestial Spirit Mage.”

“True enough.” Lisanna giggled.

“Still, for Loke to break up with all of his little girlfriends at once does have me worried.” Mira mentioned, concern in her blue eyes as she stopped next to her little sister. “It’s not like him at all. I wonder if something is wrong?”

-Dragon’s Den ~ Early Evening-

“Old Master Crux…can you tell me who the Celestial Spirit Mage that Loke had a relationship with was?” Lucy questioned one of her Silver Key Spirits.

The Spirit in question was an aged Celestial Spirit that had a head in the shape of a giant, metal cross with floral-like golden patterns. He also had a white-haired mustache sprouting from his nostrils that was styled to look like tiny crosses. He was wearing a medieval-like outfit, complete with green pants and wooden pointed shoes. His arms and legs were all skinny, and appeared a tanned orange color. On his arms were blue-colored knobs attached to both his wrists and elbows. This was the Celestial Spirit of the Southern Cross, Crux.

“Hmaa…” Crux hummed with his eyes closed as he floated above the floor like he was sitting on air.

“Everyone says that Loke is acting weird and he apparently had some kind of history with a Celestial Spirit Mage in the past.” Lucy sat on the bed in the guest bedroom, her former bedroom before she’d moved into the master bedroom with Natsu and the others. She’d needed a quiet place to talk with Crux and hopefully get the old Celestial Spirit’s wisdom of all Celestial Lore to shed light on this situation.

“Zzz…” Crux exhaled and seemed to have nodded off.

“Uh, Lucy…I think he fell asleep.” Happy mentioned, having wanted to see another of Lucy’s Spirits, he’d come with her.

“Don’t worry. He’s just searching his memory.” Lucy assured the blue cat as she waited for Crux.

“He’s definitely sleeping.” Happy knew snoring when he heard it!

“Crux is a master of Celestial Lore.” Lucy explained to Happy while she waited. “He knows all that has ever passed through the gates between the Celestial World and the Human World. He would know which Celestial Spirit Mage called which Spirit through a gate and at what point in the past it was.”

“Dahaaah!” Crux suddenly snapped his eyes open with a short shout.

“Did you figure it out, Crux?” Lucy leaned forward to listen.

“Personal information is protected even in the Celestial Spirit World, so I cannot be too specific.” Crux sighed with a small shake of his large head. “However, the Celestial Spirit Mage with whom Loke had a relationship with went by the name of Karen Lilica.

“Karen Lilica?!” Lucy exclaimed in shock at just whom Loke’s relationship had been with.

“You know her, Lucy?” Happy blinked at the blonde. Even he didn’t know that name, and he made sure to try and keep up with the information on as many Mages as possible to help out Natsu and the rest of their family.

“She was a really famous Celestial Spirit Mage!” Lucy nodded to Happy. “She was a Mage that even made the Sorcerer Weekly centerfold!” Her toned became more subdued as she continued. “But she passed away on a Quest a few years ago.”

“She was a Guild Mage?” Happy tilted his head. That would explain why he didn’t know about her. Happy didn’t keep track of Mages that had died after all.

“Yeah…I’m pretty sure that she was a member of Blue Pegasus.” Lucy said with a thinking look on her face. “Can you tell me what Karen and Loke’s relationship was?” She looked at Crux curiously.

“Hmaa…I’m afraid I cannot say anything more on that topic.” Crux denied before seemingly dozing off.

“Huh?” Happy blinked at the Celestial Spirit. “He says he can’t say more, but then starts searching his memory again?”

“No. This time, he’s sleeping.” Lucy absently replied while thinking over what she’d been able to find out already.

“Huh?!” Happy gaped at Crux in confusion. He looked exactly like he did when he was searching as he did when he was sleeping?!

“Karen and Loke…” Lucy wondered what the relationship could’ve been that it still affected Loke so strongly to this day. A sudden bad feeling made her grimace and place her hand against her forehead. “What is this bad feeling?” Lucy shook her head and let Crux return to the Celestial World in a glow of golden light. “Wait…didn’t Karen pass away around this time?” She tried to recall when she’d read the news of Karen’s passing a few years back. It was definitely around this time of year. “Is it the anniversary?” Lucy’s brown eyes widened at the possibility. Loke had cut ties with his girlfriends, became more and more distant over the last week or two with the entire guild. The bad feeling came back even stronger this time.

“Lucy!” Cana barged into the guest room in a frantic state. “Loke left Fairy Tail!”

“What?!” Lucy gaped at the sudden news. “W-Why?!”

“No one knows!” Cana shook her head. “But we’re all going out to look for him!”

“I’ll help!” Lucy declared as she followed after Cana, slipping on her shoes right before they bolted out the front door. “It couldn’t be…could it?” The blonde and Cana split up as they entered Magnolia to keep up the search. All over town calls for Loke from the Fairy Tail Mages could be heard. Lucy had a vague idea of where Loke might have gone, her intuition almost felt like it was guiding her feet.

-Cliff Waterfall ~ Karen Lilica’s Grave-

Loke stood looking at the gravestone of Karen Lilica. The ornate diamond-shaped grave had been custom-made at Bob’s (the Master of Blue Pegasus) commission. It had been placed here in one of Karen’s favorite spots after her death three years ago. He was surprised that it had taken this long, but it was all about to be over now. The sound of slow footsteps behind him caught Loke’s attention and he turned to see who had come to this secluded place.

“Everybody’s searching for you.” Lucy gave a gentle smile to Loke.

“Lucy?!” Loke flinched back a half-step at seeing the blonde.

“That’s Karen’s grave over there, right?” Lucy questioned rhetorically, her smile offering her condolences for Loke’s pain.

“How did you?” Loke couldn’t believe that Lucy could find this place.

“Karen Lilica, the Celestial Spirit Mage.” Lucy’s look saddened. “Your former Key Holder.” Loke looked to the side. “Celestial Spirit Loke.” She shook her head. “No. Your true name would be…Leo of the Lion Palace.”

“So, you realized that I was a Celestial Spirit, huh?” Loke looked at the ground.

“I’m surprised that I didn’t figure it out sooner.” Lucy lamented at not seeing the obvious signs. “After all, I am a Celestial Spirit Mage, and I’ve made contracts with quite a few spirits myself.” She took a step forward. “I finally arrived at the truth about you.”

“Don’t…” Loke took a step back to match Lucy’s step forward.

“Normally, whenever the holder of a key dies, their contract is null and void, leaving the Celestial Spirit to return back to their world until a new Key Holder comes along.” Lucy didn’t take another step after seeing Loke’s reaction. “When Karen died, your contract should have been broken, but you remained in the Human World. There must have been some reason for you not to have returned to the Celestial World.”

“…” Loke only looked down with a melancholy smile, refusing to meet Lucy’s gaze.

“Humans cannot live in the Celestial World. And Celestial Spirits cannot live in the Human World.” Lucy spoke softly at seeing the lack of response from Loke. “Being in the wrong world for too long drains your life…and eventually ends in death.”

“It’s been three years.” Loke admitted with the same sad expression.

“Three years?!” Lucy nearly yelled at the absurd length of time. “One year should’ve been impossible!”

“Yes…but I’ve reached my limit.” Loke informed her with a slight shake of his head. “My power is all but gone now.”

“I…I may be able to save you!” Lucy offered forcefully. “Tell me the reason that you can’t go back! I’ll try to open your gate!”

“I can’t be saved.” Loke denied her outright.

“What are you talking about?! If you don’t do something, you’ll really die!” Lucy was vehemently against letting anyone from Fairy Tail die if she could help it.

“I can’t go back for the simplest reason.” Loke decided to just tell Lucy outright. “I broke a basic law between Key Holders and Celestial Spirits. And as a result, I was eternally banished from the Celestial World.”

“Banished…eternally?” Lucy couldn’t believe such a punishment existed among the spirits.

“That is my punishment.” Loke nodded before looking up at the starry sky. “And this death is something that I can accept.” He looked Lucy in the eyes as he laid out his crime. “I’m a treasonous Celestial Spirit. Karen was my contracted partner, and I killed her.”

“Y-you killed Karen?” Lucy was rattled to say the least, her eyes wide at Loke’s admission. “You killed your Key Holder?”

“A spirit that kills their owner can’t return to the Celestial Word.” Loke stated flatly. “I will remain like this and vanish.”

“But why?” Lucy felt like she had to know what had happened three years ago. Something about this whole situation didn’t seem right.

“Three years ago…” Loke began to explain what it was like to be contracted to Karen Lilica. The woman was vain, even cruel at times. Lucy listened on as Loke described how Karen would punish her Celestial Spirits if she felt they’d failed her, usually by keeping them in the Human World for days on end. She would rile up men, tease them with promises of a good time with her, only to shove the innocent Celestial Spirit Aries into taking care of said promises. Then Loke told her of how he’d stepped in, forcing himself to remain in the Human World to lock Karen out of her ability to summon any other Celestial Spirit until she released both Aries and himself from their contracts. “After staying in the Human World for three months…I figured it was time to make peace with Karen. But when I went to town, I heard the rumors that she’d died while on a Quest. She couldn’t summon any Celestial Spirit with me still in the Human World. She died because of my actions, so I was punished, as I should be.”

“That’s your crime?” Lucy looked at Loke in disbelief. “You’re going to die because Karen was a failure as a Celestial Spirit Mage?! That’s wrong!”

“Ugh…” Loke’s legs gave out as he collapsed to the ground.

“Loke!” Lucy kneeled next to the fallen spirit.

“It’s my time…I think…” Loke felt his breath leaving him.

“What’re you saying?!” Lucy refused to accept this.

“Karen died because of my selfish actions…” Loke gave her a resigned look. “I practically killed her myself.” He looked down at his hand as it became transparent, looking like stars in the night sky.

“Wait! Just hold on!” Lucy couldn’t bear to see this happen. Not after what she’d learned. It wasn’t Loke’s fault that Karen had died! She’d been the one to take on a Quest when her Magic was drained! Her own actions shouldn’t be held against Loke when he was just trying to protect his friend!

“Ever since Karen’s death…I was made unable to return to the Celestial World.” Loke’s form began to waver, small wisps of the starlight-like Magic rising like smoke into the air. “Any Celestial Spirit that kills their Key Holder will be rejected by the Celestial World.” He gave Lucy a small, genuine smile. “I’m glad that I got to meet a wonderful Celestial Spirit Mage like you at the end. Thank you, Lucy.”

“Wait! I know that I can save you! Don’t give up yet!” Lucy tried to get Loke to see reason. This wasn’t his fault, none of it was!

“Could you say farewell to everyone at Fairy Tail for me?” Loke requested as more and more of his body became transparent and began to fade.

“All you need to do is go back to the Celestial World! Then you can get your strength back! I can do it for you! I know I can!” Lucy declared, refusing to sit back and watch Loke vanish into nothing.

“No one can do that…” Loke denied her, though he was grateful that she cared. He wasn’t expecting her to throw her arms around him in a hug though.

“Open! Gate of the Lion Palace!” Lucy didn’t have Loke’s Key, so she passed her Magic through him to directly access his Gate. “Take Leo back to the Celestial World!” A sound like a distant gong was heard and Lucy grimaced at the Gate for not opening.

-Celestial World-

“Was that Leo’s Gate?” Scorpio, one of the Twelve Golden Key Spirits, looked across the vast distance confused. Lying cuddled up with him was his girlfriend Aquarius. The Water Bearer narrowed her eyes, recognizing the Magic that was interacting with Leo’s Gate.

“What is she doing?” Aquarius wondered in confusion.

-Lucy and Loke-

“Open!” Lucy tried to force Leo’s Gate to open again, the gong-like sound louder this time. Still the Gate remained firmly closed.

“Lucy…” Loke took hold of her shoulders and pushed her back so they could look at each other face-to-face. “You’ve done enough…please, stop.”

“It isn’t enough!” Lucy denied as her Magic power continued to rise. “How can anyone watch a friend vanish before their eyes and not try to do something?!” She pushed a large amount of Magic through Loke and slammed it into the Gate of the Lion Palace. “Open!” The resounding gong-like reverberation was felt by both Loke and Lucy.

-Celestial World-

“Lucy?” Cancer blinked when he felt his Key Holder’s Magic so clearly when she wasn’t calling for him.

He wasn’t the only one either. Taurus, Aquarius, Virgo, Sagittarius, Crux, Horologium, Plue, Lyra, all of them could feel their Key Holder’s Magic resounding from Leo’s Gate.

-Lucy and Loke-

“Lucy! You can’t use up all of your Magic at once like that!” Loke called out to the stubborn young woman.

“I said that I’m going to save you!” Lucy yelled back, continuing to try and force the Gate of the Lion Palace to open. The gong-like sound getting louder and louder to the point it was nearly deafening. “I’m going to force open the gate to the Celestial World!”

“It won’t open!” Loke grabbed her shoulders, trying to talk sense into Lucy. “I’ve been banished! I can never return!” His eyes widened as he saw Lucy’s body beginning to spark with Magic that quickly turned into the fading starlight that he was vanishing into. “Stop it! You’re going to assimilate and vanish too! Don’t pile on anymore guilt than I already have!”

“What guilt?!” Lucy demanded her Magic slamming in the Gate of the Lion Palace again. “You didn’t do anything wrong! If those are the laws of the Celestial World, then I’ll change them!”

A resounding pulse that both Lucy and Loke felt in the very core of their beings made them stop. A second pulse of the same force and Lucy noticed that time had seemingly stopped as the waterfall stopped in midair. The stars in the night sky began to spin in concentric circles around a single fixed point. The water from the waterfall suddenly moved against gravity and the stopped to swirls together at the apex of the circling stars. A figure began to emerge from the anomaly and Lucy could only stare up at the towering being in shock.

“Huh?! What?!” Lucy was halfway to outright shock at this point.

“I-it can’t be…that’s not possible…” Loke was no longer fading away, the mere presence of this being forestalled even Loke’s death. “The Celestial Spirit King.”

The Celestial Spirit King was a gigantic, humanoid Celestial Spirit with an imposing figure. His most striking feature was probably his oversized mustache, long enough to diagonally reach his upper torso when he is still and almost extending past his shoulders, with massive and extremely scruffy ends. His red, pupil-less eyes were outlined by a deep shade, and he had a slight hint of wrinkles on his face. The King was clad in full plate armor that glowed with Magic and he had a long flowing cape of dark-navy blue that seemingly fluttered even with no breeze. On his head was a horned helmet with four feather-like ornaments attached to the top.

“King?!” Lucy gasped at that knowledge. “You mean the one that rules over the Celestial World?!”

“What is he doing here?” Loke could only gaze up at the pinnacle of all Celestial Spirits.

“Hello…my old friend.” The Celestial Spirit King greeted Loke, his voice resounding and seemingly ethereal at the same time. “As you well know, both Celestial Spirits and Celestial Spirit Mages must obey Celestial Law. Taking the life of a Key Holder is forbidden under any circumstance.” Lucy stood up, but the King was not finished speaking. “Though not by your own hand, you were still responsible for your Key Holder’s death, Leo the Lion. Therefore, you have been banished from the Celestial World for eternity.”

“Wait a minute!” Lucy exclaimed loudly to get the titanic spirit’s attention. “That’s not fair!”

“Stop it, Lucy!” Loke tried to stand, but found that he was still too weak to do so.

“Old friend…human girl…the law is clear and Leo’s punishment stands. He has broken Celestial Law. I alone cannot change this.” The Celestial Spirit King spoke as he looked at the two of them.

No way…did he actually come here, just because Lucy said she’d change the law?’ Loke couldn’t wrap his mind around such an occurrence. ‘Why would he care what Lucy says at all?

“Loke’s been suffering in the Human World for three years already!” Lucy had her arms wide, basically putting herself between Loke and the King. “He didn’t kill Karen, but he did stand up to her! And he did it for Aries’s sake! For his friend!”

“It does pain me to see my old friend in such a fragile condition.” The Celestial Spirit King admitted without a change in his composure.

“I’m not talking about old friends!” Lucy yelled back. “I’m talking about a friend that is right here in front of you! So, listen to him, you old jerk!” Loke gaped at Lucy’s words against the Celestial Spirit King. “Karen’s death was an accident! What crime did Loke commit?!” Her Magic power began to climb again, spiking higher and higher despite how much she’d already used.

“That’s enough, Lucy!” Loke yelled out to her. “I’m not asking anyone to forgive me for this! I want to pay for my sins! I want to vanish this way!”

“No!” Lucy denied with another spike of her Magic. “I won’t allow you to throw your life away like this! It isn’t a sin to look after your friends!” In a flash of golden light all of Lucy’s Gold and Silver contracted spirits appeared around her. Crux, Horologium, Lyra, and Plue all looked imploringly up at the Celestial Spirit King. Aquarius, Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, and Sagittarius stared at the Celestial Spirit King directly, making their own thoughts and feeling on the matter clear to the him as well. A moment later and they all vanished as Lucy collapsed onto the ground, nearly out of Magic power.

It was only for a moment…but she summoned so many at the same time…’ Loki had never heard of a Celestial Spirit Mage that could summon so many of the Golden Key Spirits at the same time before.

“My friends feel the same way that I do…” Lucy forced herself to sit up. “All of them came here, to let you know that.” She was sweating, but refused to stop until she changed the King’s verdict. “If you’re a Celestial Spirit too, then you should understand what Loke and Aries felt!”

“Quit trying to do the impossible, Lucy.” Loke placed his hand on her shoulder. “It was only for a brief moment, but doing that could’ve killed you.”

“Hearing you speak of my old friend, has led me to think that it was not his actions, but the law itself, that should be in question.” The Celestial Spirit King spoke, his eyes focused solely on Lucy. “Leo committed his crime for the sake of Aries, his fellow spirit. And now this human girl is willing to risk her life to save Leo.”

“…” Loke couldn’t speak, he could only stare up at the King in stunned silence.

“I am moved by the bonds of loyalty you have displayed…” The Celestial Spirit King continued. “In this case, I shall rule an exception.” Lucy beamed up at the King in joy while Loke’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Leo the Lion…return to the Celestial World has been granted.”

“You’re not so bad after all, huh King?” Lucy winked at the Celestial Spirit King, getting a smile from the colossal spirit in return.

“You are pardoned.” The King nodded to Leo as his form began to fade away. “Give your thanks unto the path of the stars.”

“B-but wait…I…” Loke couldn’t get his words to form properly as tears gathered in his eyes.

“If you still feel the need for atonement, then you are charged with living in service to your friend, the human girl. Lend her your aid and your strength, for that is the value of the friend that you have found. Devote your life in service to her, Leo the Lion.” With those last words the Celestial Spirit King completely faded away.

As time reasserted itself, the water crashed back down over the falls. The stars had spotted their rotation and glittered in the night sky once more. From the spot where the Celestial Spirit King had stood a bright light fell to the earth. The glowing light landed in front of Lucy softly. As the glow slowly faded, it revealed a lacrima filled with the golden starlight of the Celestial Spirit King and on top of the crystal was a new Golden Key bearing the mark of Leo.

“You heard him.” Lucy smiled at Leo with a light giggle as she held up his key.

“Lucy…I just want to say…thank you.” Loke smiled at his new Key Holder.

“I look forward to being your Key Holder from now on, Loke.” Lucy held out her hand to him.

“Looking forward to it, Lucy.” Loke agreed as he shook her hand to seal their deal. He faded away, returning to the Celestial World in a flash of golden light.

“Um…maybe I should’ve asked what to do with this?” Lucy mumbled as she picked up the glowing lacrima. The starlight within was almost entrancing and she couldn’t help but smile at it. “I’m sure it’ll come in handy someday.” She started making the walk back home with the glow of the lacrima lighting her way.

Lucy would have a long night ahead of her as she had to explain Loke’s circumstances to the entire guild.

-Celestial Spirit World-

“Welcome home, old friend.” The Celestial Spirit King smiled at Loke as he appeared in the Celestial World for the first time in three years. Around the King were dozens of spirits, all of them friends of Leo the Lion that had missed him terribly since he’d been gone. The most vocal and expressive one being the wooly missile that launched herself at him.

“Leo!” Aries cried tears of joy at seeing her friend again after so long. The pinkette in the wool outfit hugged Loke as tightly as she could with tears pouring down her face. “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!”

“It’s alright Aries, it’s alright, I’m back.” Loke hugged the crying woman back while ignoring the tears that were falling down his own cheeks. “I missed you all too.”

A large party was quickly thrown in the Celestial World for the return of Leo the Lion. It was a party that wouldn’t be matched for quite a long time!

-The Next Day-

Lucy hummed contentedly in Natsu’s arms, reveling in the warmth and love she could feel from him. The fact that they were performing the Dragon Soul Ritual in their home meant that they could be as comfortable as they wanted. That was why Lucy was in a tiny white tank top and cotton booty shorts as she snuggled into Natsu with a smile. She knew that Natsu could feel the fact that she was going braless and it made her grin whenever she pressed her breasts into his chest more.

“This is going smoothly. I’m glad.” Natsu murmured into her blonde hair before gently kissing the top of her head.

“Love you, Natsu.” Lucy purred, leaving a kiss on his bare chest to return his affection.

“Love you too, Lucy.” Natsu smiled lazily, just enjoying the time they were spending together.

“I guess we should head to the Guild in a bit.” Lucy mumbled a few minutes later. “Everybody else is already there helping with the reconstruction.”

“Maybe…” Natsu yawned before his left arm unwound from her waist to slowly travel down and cup her bouncy booty. “Or we could stay here for a little longer, just the two of us.”

“Lets go with that.” Lucy giggled as the Magic flow from Natsu was slowed until it stopped. With the ritual completed for the day, the two lovebirds could indulge a little. “Let me just get this off.” Lucy quickly pulled off the tiny tank top, the garment could barely cover her girls at all anyway. Her massive mammaries bounced into view and Natsu was quick to sit up and capture one of her nipples with his mouth. “Mmm~” Lucy’s fingers threaded through Natsu’s pink locks as she moaned at his talented lips and tongue lavishing her tit. She gasped when one of Natsu’s hands trailed up her side and cupped her free boob before expertly teasing it too.

It would be well past the normal lunch time when the duo finally showed up at the guild construction site.

-Fairy Tail Guild Site-

A very relaxed Natsu and Lucy walked into the construction site hand-in-hand. The two were just in time to see a table go flying across the area and quickly found out the reason.

“Just you try to say that one more time!” Erza nearly roared at Laxus, causing several members of Fairy Tail quickly backed away from the area the two S-Class Mages occupied.

“Erza?” Lucy blinked at seeing the redhead losing her cool enough to throw furniture around.

“Let me spell it out for you so that you can understand.” Laxus mocked with a laugh. “This guild has no need of weaklings!”

“You cretin.” Erza glared at the Lightning Mage.

“Those wimps from Phantom dared to pick a fight with us because we have a bunch of weaklings in our guild.” Laxus waved in the general vicinity of the majority of the members.

“Laxus…looks like he’s finally back.” Natsu exhaled with a grimace as he and Lucy walked forward to stand next to Cana, Lisanna, and Mira.

“That punk. Coming back and mouthing off when he wasn’t even here.” Gray scoffed at Laxus’s attitude.

“I’m talking about you two in particular!” Laxus looked at Jet and Droy who were sitting at a table with Levy. “I heard you ran away from Gajeel and left the girl to fight for you.” He ridiculed both of the Mages with a mocking laugh. “Come to think of it, do I even know your names? You’re pathetic!”

“Laxus!” Levy shot to her feet with a glare. She hated people talking bad about her friends. “I told them to get help, they didn’t leave me behind! Get your facts straight!”

“Laxus.” Gildarts’s voice cut through the air even at a normal volume. “Stop talking shit and calm down.” The Crash Mage walked forward until he stood only two or so meters from the Lighting Mage. “No one is interested in any blame game. We didn’t see you come running to help, if I recall.”

“Is that a surprise?” Laxus scoffed, but a lot of them noticed the slight change in his tone. “That fight had nothing to do with me! Still…if I’d been here, we wouldn’t have been brought down like that!”

“Guess we’ll never know if that’s true, since you didn’t show up.” Gildarts replied bluntly and everyone saw Laxus grit his teeth.

“When I inherit the Guild, I’m going to clean out all the weaklings!” Laxus promised with a scowl. “The weaklings and anyone that tries to oppose me. Every last one!” He stalked off with sparks of electricity crackling off his body.

“Inherit the Guild?” Lucy blinked at the Lightning Mage’s words.

“Laxus is Master Makarov’s grandson.” Cana rolled her eyes at the blonde man’s back.

“The leadership positions of several Guilds in Fiore are indeed passed down from parent to child from the founder of said Guild’s lineage.” Mira sighed with a flat look on her face. “Laxus isn’t entirely wrong that he could inherit it when the Master retires.”

“If Gildarts could rein in his wanderlust, he could be the next Guild Master.” Lisanna offered and Cana shook her head.

“I doubt that’ll ever happen.” The Card Mage looked at her father making the man look away a second later.

“I’d never want a Master that treats other members that way.” Lucy shook her head.

“It’s for that reason that rumors of Master Makarov being unable to retire sprang up.” Erza explained to Lucy as they started moving towards a table to sit and chat.

“You mean he’s waiting for that creep to shape up?” Lucy seemed doubtful that would happen.

“They’re just rumors.” Natsu shrugged it off.

“True, no one has actually ever heard of Master Makarov talking about who might be the next Master.” Lisanna shook her head with a small smile.

“Let’s not worry about Laxus, there’s still plenty of work to do around here.” Mira reminded her family. “The faster we get mostly back to normal, the faster we can start accepting Quests again.”

“Yeah, we can’t take off too much time, everyone here depends on Quests to make their money.” Natsu agreed as he rolled his shoulders. “We should get to work.”

“Yeah!” Lucy cheered, getting smiles and laughter from her family and a few Guild members around their table.

Loke saved! Woo! And something left behind by the Celestial Spirit King. That’s different. Wonder what its purpose is?

Laxus is still trying to talk smack, but Gildarts can shut him up pretty quick.

Levy stands up for herself and her team too. Badass Adorable!

Me thinks that Lucy will be a Dragon Slayer soon enough!

The next Arc is about to begin! How will the Tower of Heaven fair?

Keep reading to find out!

Until I get your reviews, later!

You good sir as always have impeccable timing with updates I was just rewatching fairy tail when this masterpiece came up I haven’t even read it yet but I already know it’s going to be fire

Laxus knows better than to try shit with Guildarts. He isn't THAT stupid thankfully. But still, fuck him. He is such a cunt at this point in the story.

Kairomaru

Indeed, but with Gildarts around, he can't act up too much. When Gildarts goes a wandering on one of his long Quests again though...well, shit might happen.

Tristan McKenzie O'Meara

Unless he decided to try shit just as Gildarts leaves, cause news could reach him before he's too far away and he could just come barreling back to Magnolia. But that's just a theory.

So is Lucy going to be a something like a Celestial Spirit Dragon slayer that will tie into her Star Dress and Keys? Or will it focus more on a space/galaxy theme to make her a Star Dragon Slayer and a counterpart to the Moon Dragon Slayer Magic?

Kairomaru

You'll see what Lucy becomes soon enough. But I like that you're thinking! Great minds and all that, right?

If it ain't Celestial element, I could guess more things. Such as time, Space, Obsidian (honestly, I doubts she's this one, but it popped in my head and it IS a good match as obsidian is a certain level of cooled down lava), Knowledge, Sky, Sun, Star, Moon, or maybe even Gold, Jewels or Wealth. This is all I can come up with honestly, I was tempted to say Water, but that spot belongs to Juvia.
