Well... This is a first for our group... Just four days until the end of the month and we've had enough people decide to leave to actually put us into the negatives.

I can only hope that I haven't been putting out subpar writing and driving people away.

With the state of things, I can understand having to withdraw a Pledge. Take care of yourself before you Pledge a single cent to me, please. Your well-being means more than any Pledge.

Maybe we should've expected this, given how well we've done over the last two and a half years. But we'd always managed to grow just a bit more each month, even if it was just a bit more. To actually see us lose that growth and even start to shrink is...disheartening to say the least.

I'll try and get another update out today and maybe that'll help. The schedule has three more updates for this month, including today's update.

Regardless of this, I hope everyone is doing alright and that maybe once everything is more stable we'll see all of them back here with us again.

Edit: I guess I should point out that we do have an available spot in the Legendary General Tier right now if anyone has been waiting for a spot to open up.

Second Edit: We now have an opening in the Support Captain Tier too, for anybody that has been looking to Rank Up to that level.

Don't worry you'll come back from this.

Hey, I'm one of the people who changed my pledge to something lower. Sorry, but my folks are cracking down on my spending. If I don't make some changes before they do, my life will take a turn to boring and lame. I'm still supporting, but not as much for right now.

We're all hopeful, I'm sure. We've grown so much, eventually we had to hit a stumbling block, right?

Kairomaru

That's fine, like I said, each Patron's well-being is more important than any Pledge to me. The fact that you're still sticking with us means more than I can say. We all appreciate you staying with us as part of our group. After all, it's your group too!

Yeah Kai it's just another bad point of this year I just think it's more people's parents wanting them to put money to their wellbeing first and that's why you have not done any subpar writing it's always been great it's just this year's been incredibly taxing for people.

Kairomaru

That's completely understandable. I prefer my Patrons take care of themselves and their wellbeing first, before ever worrying about any Pledge to me. We'll keep going and I'll keep writing to the best of my ability.

As a fellow creator...I'll skip any platitudes and give you a bit of brutal honesty. I've nearly canceled my own pledge several times, and will likely never increase it beyond the minimum...because you're a ridiculously unstable creator. Now, don't take that the wrong way. It's not a comment on your personality or overall output. You're good in both those regards. What I actually mean is that I have NO IDEA what I'm going to get from you either short or long term. You have severe Story Attention Deficient Disorder. Most of the stories I originally joined for are no longer being updated much (if at all) since you have an extremely annoying habit of starting new ones (for series I don't know or don't like as often as not) whenever you feel like it. Added to the fact that you have only a single completed story, and the ending of that one felt distinctly like you simply lost interest and ended it so you could call it finished, and I honestly feel like supporting your work is something of an exercise in frustration. Moreover, you also have to consider that you're probably shedding people as you move away from the series they originally wanted to read fanfiction of. In example, I originally joined mostly for your Harry Potter fanfiction, with a side helping of My Hero Academia which I happen to enjoy. In my case, I'm lucky that you still have ongoing works in those areas...but they aren't being updated as much given that you've added things like Bleach and Yu-gi-oh, both of which I consider trash and thus have no interest in. Adding new series is fine...but you're going to need to accept that if you shift from major series with huge fanfiction followings (like Harry Potter) to something like Yu-gi-oh which isn't all that popular for fanfiction....you're going to lose people. You might gain others, but likely not as many, as the total pool of potential followers that exist is smaller to start with. If money is what you're really after, then you need to stop and consider what your Patrons want to read, rather than what you want to write. It's not a nice truth, but it's the truth of every creator trying to live off their creations and it has been since basically the beginning of time.

I am aware of how Patreon works and that a large majority of my Patrons are here for Harry Potter. That's why Artificer always gets 2 updates a month. My Hero Academia, both stories, also get updated at minimum once a month with many months seeing two updates for them. I write the other series because I have ideas for them that won't leave my head until they're written down. The new stories you've seen, both Bleach and Yugioh, are merely a fraction of the many, many ideas I have waiting in the wings. Artificer Legacy has a large amount of story left to go, and Arch Mage is barely started. My Patrons that enjoy HP will have plenty to read for a long while to come. As I finish more stories, I feel it's good to already have others ready to take their place in the rotation, stories that already have a chapter or two or three and that I know my Patrons enjoy.
