Harry Potter smiled as he walked down to the large tree near the edge of the pond that sat on the Bones Estate. He and Susan had both finally gotten some time away from work and had made plans to spend the day together. While he was carrying a picnic basket and blanket, Susan was carrying another basket that held something far more important.

“Let’s set up.” Harry smiled as he and Susan were covered by the shade of the tree.

“You’ve got the blanket.” Susan grinned at him while giving him a playful expectant look.

“Yes, my Lady.” Harry gave an exaggerated bow getting a giggle out of Susan. He quickly spread out the blanket and set the picnic basket down.

“So what’s for lunch?” Susan questioned curiously since Harry had spent the morning making it in secret; much to the dismay and discontent of both Dobby and the Bones House Elves.

“Nothing too fancy, just some steak, mashed potatoes and mixed greens.” Harry replied getting a smile, along with a little drool, from Susan. According to his wives Harry made a bloody fine steak. The fact that all Leonthropes had a taste for meat only made it that much more irresistible.

“Are you trying to butter me up for tonight, mister?” Susan questioned with a saucy smirk towards her husband.

“I don’t know what you could be talking about.” Harry grinned as he served his wife her meal.

“Mhmm, I’m sure you don’t.” Susan teased as she accepted her plate and silverware and quickly set about devouring her husband’s cooking. Harry chuckled as he watched Susan devour her meal. It always warmed his heart to see his family enjoying his cooking.

“Slow down, Love, it’s not going anywhere.” Harry laughed as Susan ignored him. He quickly poured tea for the both of them and started eating his own meal. A short time later and both of them had clean plates and full bellies.

“Haah~… great as always Harry.” Susan complimented as she leaned into his side and rested her head on Harry’s shoulder.

“I live to please, Love.” Harry grinned as he wrapped his arm around her waist. The two happily watching the water together as they snuggled, content to just have time to be together. With Susan’s Auror work and Harry either cooped up in his Rune Lab or going out to meet with clients for his work, it could be hard to get this quiet time to relax and enjoy each other’s company.

“You’ll have to teach me how to cook so well sometime.” Susan smiled softly as she closed her eyes and snuggled closer.

“I use a secret ingredient to make all of the meals I make taste amazing.” Harry replied as he leaned back against the tree and held Susan close.

“Oh? Just what would this ‘secret ingredient’ be then?” Susan asked as she pulled back to be able to look into Harry’s eyes.

“All my love for you, of course.” Harry cheekily stated with a smirk as Susan let out an unladylike snort before swatting him playfully on the chest.

“You’re so corny!” Susan laughed beautifully as Harry smiled at her before pulling her into a soft kiss. Susan didn’t hesitate to deepen the lip lock and wrap her arms around her husband.

“You love it when I’m corny.” Harry stated with a pleased grin after breaking the kiss.

“You’re lucky I find it so endearing, Mister. Or else you’d only have your good looks, personality, and intelligence to keep me interested.” Susan replied with a playful eye roll.

“Oh no, how would I ever keep a gorgeous woman like you around with only those traits?” Harry asked sarcastically as Susan giggled and kissed him again. The two continued their gentle kisses and holding each other for a while longer before going back to cuddling.

“I’m so glad we got this day together.” Susan sighed contently as she leaned against Harry.

“Me too, Love. Seems like you and I haven’t had our free time sync up in over a month.” Harry lamented as he pulled her close and kissed the top of her head.

“It comes with the job, ever since I got promoted to Senior Auror I’ve had more work to do.” Susan murmured from her place cuddled into Harry’s side.

“I know, I guess I’ll just have to make sure I spoil you as much as possible when we get days like this.” Harry smiled.

“Darn right you will.” Susan nodded with a grin.

“You want to dance, Love?” Harry asked as he pulled a Wizarding Wireless from the picnic basket. Susan beamed at her husband as she carefully got up and let Harry turn on the music. The two quickly closed the distance between them as the music started to play. Harry’s arms went to Susan’s hips while her arms wrapped around his neck. The married Leonthropes began to gently sway to the soft music as they slowly moved about. After several minutes of slowly dancing together, stealing kisses throughout the time, the two were interrupted by a noise from the basket that Susan had carried down with them. The two turned towards the basket that was on the picnic blanket and under the shade of the tree.

“Mmmnaw.” A loud yawn came before burbles and cries started coming from the basket. The two quickly made their way over to the basket and knelt down in front of it. What was lying inside the basket was the most important thing in the world for the couple. A small, cute baby in a light blue onesie with dark red hair just peeking out of a matching knitted hat stared back up at them; with amazing emerald eyes that only Harry could have possibly passed on to him. The baby smiled and burbled more at the sight of his parents and melted both of their hearts.

“Aww, is Edward sad we left him out of the dance?” Susan cooed to her son as she gently picked him up and cradled him to her chest. The burbling and gibberish she got in response only brightened her day more as she held her baby. Harry smiled at the sight of his wife holding their little boy. It was a sight he could see every single day for the rest of his life and never be less amazed by it. Susan continued to fawn over their son before he tapped her shoulder and held his arms out.

“Come to papa, Edward.” Harry grinned as Susan passed their baby to him. Once Edward was safe and cradled in his father’s arms Harry beamed. It was still the greatest experience in his life to be a father. No matter how many times it happened he always got the most joy when holding his children. Some of his wives would argue that he would spend more time holding his children than they did. Tonks had threatened to maul him if he didn’t let her hold her own baby when she’d had her first child. Susan could only smile at the sight of her husband holding their son and the joyful look on his face. Suddenly Edward squirmed a bit and let out a fussy burble before beginning to cry.

“Oh no, Edward, is daddy not as good as mummy?” Susan childishly teased her husband as she took Edward back into her arms and cooed to him softly. Edward slowly calmed down nestled as he was in his mother’s arms.

“No, Edward, love papa too!” Harry playfully whined as he leaned against his wife and looked down at his son. The baby boy giggled and burbled at the sight of both of his parents. Harry leaned back against the tree once more before gently guiding Susan to sit between his legs and lean against him. With Susan settled against him, Harry wrapped his right arm around her waist and moved his left arm up so Edward could see his hand. “Gonna get you, Edward.” Harry softly stated as he moved his index finger towards his son’s belly. The baby boy giggled and smiled as his papa tickled him and Susan held him close.

“Could you be any more of a doting father?” Susan questioned happily as Harry continued to play with the baby in her arms.

“I can try.” Harry murmured into her ear playfully getting Susan to giggle.

“You’re such a goof.” Susan stated as she watched Edward grab a hold of Harry’s index finger.

“Maybe, but you still love me.” Harry teased as he kissed her neck.

“You’re right, I do.” Susan grinned as she watched Edward play tug of war with Harry’s finger. These were the moments she lived for these days. The times when they could be together with their son and just let the love and joy wash over them. They always had the evening and nights together, but Edward was most often asleep during these times. Being able to hold her son while he played with his father was currently Susan’s favorite thing in the world. She wouldn’t trade it for all of the gold in Gringotts.

“Let’s take a walk around the grounds.” Harry suggested. “Edward will one day be Lord Bones, so he’ll need to know the layout of his Estate.” He chuckled as Susan rolled her eyes at him. With Harry helping her stand up the two walked beside each other around the grounds of the Ossuary, the ancestral home of the Bones Family. Harry would baby talk and babble to their son as he described the various areas of the grounds.

“I’m sure he’s getting this all down, Honey.” Susan giggled at her husband as he looked at her with a beaming smile.

“Of course he is! He’s my son after all! So of course he knows that the Quidditch Pitch is the most important area on the grounds.” Harry replied with a laugh before looking down at Edward. “Don’t you Edward? Who knows that the most important awea’ is da’ Quidditch Pitch? You do! Yes you do!” He babbled to his son getting the baby in Susan’s arms to burble back with a smile while moving his little arms. “Ha ha, two to one! Boys win this vote!”

“Men!” Susan huffed playfully as she bounced her son gently in her arms getting even more happy burbles from the baby. By the time they got back to the picnic blanket Edward was yawning and looked ready for a nap. With smiles from both parents they carefully placed their son into his basket and tucked him in with the blanket. With gentleness not widely attributed to the Nemea Leonthrope race Harry picked up his sleeping son’s baby basket. Susan and Harry’s hands clasped together with their fingers interlaced as they slowly walked back up to the manor house.

“He’s so precious when he’s sleeping.” Harry mumbled quietly as he and Susan watched their son sleep in his crib.

“He really is.” Susan agreed as she gently ran a finger against her son’s tiny cheek. “I can’t wait to give him a sibling. Growing up as an only child has its perks, but a sibling to play with is definitely nice.”

“Well, I think I could help you with that, my Lady.” Harry breathed huskily into her ear causing Susan to shiver pleasurably.

“Oh, you think so?” Susan teased as she bumped their hips together.

“I’d say the proof is in front of us.” Harry smirked as he nibbled her ear lightly.

“I guess you’re right. Well then shall we take this to our bedroom?” Susan asked with a seductive look that set Harry’s instincts into overdrive.

“We shall.” Harry whispered so as not to wake Edward. Susan gave their son a gentle kiss on his forehead as the baby continued to sleep before leaving the room and closing the door. The enchantments on the nursery would keep out sound while alerting them, as well as every house elf on the property, if Edward needed anything. Before Susan could even turn around Harry had picked her up and thrown her over his shoulder. “To the bedroom!” He growled out his Lion attributes coming out slightly in his desire for his wife.

“You’re going to get it for this!” Susan growled sexily as Harry carried her down the hallway towards the bedroom, her own Lioness responding to Harry’s.

“Looking forward to it, Love!” Harry growled out as he closed the bedroom door with his foot and playfully tossed Susan onto the large bed.

It wasn’t a surprise to either Harry or Susan that a few weeks later Susan found out she was pregnant. All of the family celebrated the wonderful news together and a little over nine months later Susan brought a beautiful baby girl into the world. She and Harry had named her Amelia after Susan’s aunt. It was clear to all that once again a child of Harry’s had him wrapped around their finger from the moment of their birth. Harry took it all in stride, far too happy with another little one to love and care for.

Though Susan did almost end up mauling him when Harry found it almost too hard to stop holding his newest little daughter. But these were the joys of life that they had discovered together and neither of them could be happier.

There it is! The sweetest little slice of the future for Harry and Susan in Nemea Leonthrope! I hope you all have the warm and fuzzies! I tried to make this based on my own feelings when I took on the responsibility of being my niece’s father figure. She was two and I was seventeen when she came to live with me and my mother permanently. She was the most adorable little thing ever! So these words are what I felt when caring for her when she was so small. Now she’s taking AP Classes in High School and loves to read! So I think I was at least a partially successful father figure. Though now she knows how to talk back and argue so there are some downsides, lol!

Robyn I hope you’ve especially enjoyed your one-shot! Let me know in the comments if you would!
