Not as many questions came in as I thought but that's alright! I know most of my patrons are here for the stories! Regardless I'll answer all the questions!
Tristan McKenzie O'Meara asked: What drove you to start writing?
Honestly? I just wanted to be a part of this other world that I was reading/watching. My very first fanfiction was written when I was still pretty young way back in late 1999 or possibly early 2000. I didn't even know the term fanfiction at the time to be truthful. It was actually a Pokémon Fanfiction set in the Orange Islands, because that was the season currently airing back then. It was basically two one-shots about myself challenging Ash to Pokémon battles. My little self-insert was written on a regular lined notebook and I wrote it, with all the bad grammar and subpar dialogue, with me losing both battles. Even back then I understood Main Character plot armor! Thankfully, for my own pride as a semi-successful writer, this first writing of mine was never digitized and so disappeared from existence when the notebook ended up destroyed at a later date.
Thomas E. Nellis asked: What are your: Top 5 songs, top 5 movies, top five deserts, top 5 meals, and top 5 main characters from stories, movies, and/ or tv shows
Top Songs in no particular order would have to currently be: 'Life in Her Yet' by Rag 'n' Bone Man, 'Go the Distance' by Michael Bolton, 'Concerning Hobbits (Sound of the Shire)' by Howard Shore, "Simple and Clean'/'Sanctuary'/'Face my Fears' by Utada Hikaru (Yes all three of the tracks for Kingdom Hearts! They're great to listen to!), and 'Maria, Maria' by Santana (My quintessential 90's nostalgia song. I must have heard it well over 300 times on the radio back in the day.)
Top Movies at the moment are: Jurassic Park (A classic for dinosaur-loving kids.), 'Spirited Away'/'Princess Mononoke' (Pretty much ANY Hayao Miyazaki film with Studio Ghibli.), 'The Lord of the Rings Trilogy' (I'm counting them as one LONG movie!), 'Akira' (Because it is literally genre defining. Also a bit of a head trip if you're watching it for the first time.), 'Avengers: Endgame' (It was a good way to wrap up the current MCU and move into the next phase. Not like they're going to run out of characters anytime soon.)
I think you meant Desserts with this question but just incase you meant exactly what you typed.
Top Deserts: Mojave Desert (It has Death Valley in it, got to recognize that name!), Sahara Desert (Again everyone knows this name! Plus it is literally over 3,300,000 square miles of F*CK THIS PLACE!!!), Australian Desert (You know how EVERYTHING in Australia wants to kill you? Try taking a walk through this desert, you'll pretty much be guaranteeing your own death.), Gobi Desert (Hey at least you get some cold Winters here. Plus a Death Worm if folklore is to be believed, just what a desert needs!), Arabian Desert (Does it EVER rain here? How does anyone live here permanently?)
Top Desserts, I don't have much of a sweet tooth actually but I've been known to partake of these after a meal: Ice cream (Usually Vanilla, but I won't say no to Strawberry.), Cake (Vanilla, Chocolate, Red Velvet, as long as it isn't some weird flavor.) Sugar Cookie (A nice warm sugar cookie after a meal is excellent!), Mochi (At Japanese restaurants.), Pudding/Jell-O (I've had these a few times after a meal when they were offered. As long as it isn't some odd flavor that sounds unappealing.)
Top Meals: Filet mignon with some potatoes, broccoli, and a salad. (Great meal! Worth the price!), Swordfish filet with herb butter sauce and pretty much any two vegetables. (A total win in terms of seafood! Pretty sure this meal is what gave me my first foodgasm feeling!), Carbonara. (Traditional Italian is great but I've had some American versions that tweak the recipe that aren't bad at all.), Sukiyaki. (I had a meal of this with the tour group I went to Japan with. It was truly great and it really encourages people to talk to each other during the meal.), Hamburger and fries. (I'm American this shouldn't be a surprise! Let me grill up a burger and add my personal choice of Cheese, Tomato, Lettuce, Onions, Condiments, etc. and give me some good fries and I'm a happy guy!)
Top Main Characters: This is difficult because I've been such an avid reader since I was young. Not to mention I'm a fan of multitudes of manga and anime. But I'll give it my best shot.
Satou (From Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody): He's just a 29 year old programmer that suddenly woke up in another world that runs on magic and video game logic. What does he do when he suddenly becomes level 310 after using three 'Meteor Shower' spells and levelling an area called 'The Valley of Dragons'? He just saves a female soldier and decides to explore the world. Just going on a trip to take a young elf girl back home and making new spells and magic items on the way. Makes friends with various races and people. Doesn't try and be a hero saving the world, the Saga Empire already has someone for that anyway, just plays at being a merchant and takes care of the slave girls travelling with him. He's just trying to explore and give the slave girls the best life he can. I can totally relate to him and his personality.
Son Goku (From Dragonball/Z/Super) Aside from his rather 'off' parenting skills and such he's just a goof that loves to fight. Even if to get that fight he ends up putting others in harms way. While I don't condone others being placed in harms way for anyone else's sake, Goku rarely does it intentionally *cough* Gave Cell a Senzu Bean *cough*. I've always enjoyed Goku's clueless antics ever since I first saw the original Dragonball. His drive to get stronger and be a better martial artist has always been an admirable trait to me. Plus I liked the fact that he was a Saiyan that was destined to be Low Class and violent, yet he rose above that and became a hero that defends the planet and now even the Universe. I would say Mulitverse but he IS kind of the one that put it in danger with the Tournament of Power so...yeah. Plus his Super Saiyan transformations are freaking iconic! Every anime fan has at least heard of them and they basically set the standard for the shounen genre way back in the 80's.
Harry Potter (From Harry Potter series) I was always intrigued by this character from the time I read the first book back in 1998. He's relatable, aside from the magic which I sadly don't possess, and expresses genuine emotion that makes sense for a character his age. Would I have preferred him getting more magical abilities/skills through the series? Hell yes! But we all saw how that worked out for him. "Hey I'm suppose to fight a Dark Lord, can I get some extra magical training?", "No, no you need to go live with your relatives and be a child.", "They literally lock me in a small bedroom and feed me through a cat flap while there are bars on my window.", "I'm sure it's not that bad. You are safe there.", "How do I fight a freaking Dark Lord without any training?", "With love.", "Why not spells, you know, like a wizard?", "Trust me. Now go get hated by everyone, then loved, then hated again. Also only make two friends and keep everyone else at arms length.", It would be at this point that I'd say 'F*CK YA'LL!!!' and walk out with both middle fingers raised.
Andy Dufresne (From the Shawshank Redemption) The guy gets framed for killing his wife, sent to prison and suffers all the horrible shit you expect in a prison. But instead of breaking down he comes up with an escape plan, get's himself the tools he needs, slowly but surely works his way through the prison walls and crawls through a freaking sewage drain to freedom. After escaping he steals the identity of the warden and takes all of his money to make it to a small seaside village in Mexico to live out the rest of his days with a friend. Plus he leaks the truth about the corruption within the prison and all the assholes get what's coming to them. Except the warden, he takes a much more drastic approach to avoiding the shame and legal punishment. Plus we got the iconic quote, "Get busy living or get busy dying." I've heard people both my age and my parent's age use this quote before.
Sakura Kinomoto (From Card Captor Sakura) This is one of the only Shoujo series I've ever enjoyed and Sakura is the first reason why. It's not even that she's super magically powerful, but that she's just a realistic young female character and that makes her beyond adorable! How anyone can read/watch this series and not like Sakura is beyond me. She doesn't even understand or believe in magic before she finds the Clow Cards and isn't exactly ok with having to capture them all. But she does what's right and helps others along the way. Plus she just has an absolutely adorable personality and she would definitely be the kind of daughter most parents would love to have. If I ever have a daughter I hope she grows up to be as sweet as Sakura.
So, that was all the questions and I hope everyone enjoyed learning a bit more about me. If you think of another question after reading this feel free to send me a Message. I'll answer a question or two for any curious patron. At least for a while.
