Have you heard of or are you familiar with the term “yakuza?” That’s what the Shie Hassaikai are- and if you don’t know, it’s basically mafia/gangsters, though I think over there it carries at least a little more respectability and/or is viewed as more reputable than how we usually think of crime groups- so they’re probably not likely to just do something as simple and overt as rob a bank for more money lol

Oh, and I kind of think that the Bubble Girl tickle torture scene is possibly a kink/fetish of the writer coming out- also a prime example of a scene to point to when someone asks why anime isn’t more mainstream- this. This is why lol (though it is still steadily getting there)
