I made a big lifechange about 8 weeks ago, going back to playing live rather than at home; as a result, I've fallen behind on many of my reactions. I intend to catch up on TP Sunday. However, I did watch your outro here and the point you've raised about there being no real main characters to identify with is a good one and one raised on the Twin Peaks Rewatch podcast. This show is extremely unusual....as some have said, it's like an 18 hour movie more than a TV show...and Lynch is one of the most experimental non-linear storytelling directors out there. That's what this show is really. I do think Kyle McLachlan has done a remarkable job here playing six different characters on this show (I can elaborate who those six are after the final episode). The catatonic Coop whom people mistake for Dougie Jones is the one with the most airtime I would guess (with evil Coop a close second)...and having a character like that is not without precedent. As I think I mentioned before, he is like the protagonist in the film Being There played by Peter Sellers. McLachlan actually has cited that character as inspiration for his role. It's difficult of course to identify with catatonic Coop but I feel as if one can be inspired by the acting and writing that makes him possible.

Yeah Kyle has been the true standout to me over the course of all 3 seasons. It's been very interesting to see him work on two seasons before his stint on Agents of Shield and then see him here in season 3 AFTER his run on AoS, because that show was my only prior exposure to him.
