Totally agree that the show acting as though you could kill someone to pass a test is stupid. If this were shown to be a dystopia where life was cheap i might buy it, but this is a pretty normal world, so even with the project director Lockheart being a bit heartless it doesn't seem possible. I mean, when the crew came in to get them they were shocked to find them unconscious, i'm sure they'd freak out more (and call the cops) if someone got murdered. I just had to double check this but the test is NOT in the manga, this is anime original - generally i prefer how the anime does things but this was a bad change. The idea that, because third world countries are being left behind, we should make EVERYONE poor, seems insanely backwards thinking. If first world countries got poorer due to this, then they would start competing for resources with poor nations even more than they currently do thus making poor countries even worse off - if anyone is going to win a competition for resources, it'll be the nations that start off the richest. The poor nations might even blame the poor nations the terrorism was done in the name of and attack them over it. We've been told the world will run out of energy without space resources, and you need energy to make enough food for current populations, so blocking this mission would probably cause massive famines (in the poor nations, not the rich ones). That said, you just gotta look at the USSR to realize backward thinking like that can be realistic. It really annoys me that almost all reviews of this show are from commies who agree with the terrorists (so, there are actually people who think like this, sadly) so I'm glad to see one review that isn't like that. I actually like Colin (the rich guy) because he admits he got where he is through nepotism unlike a lot of other people born rich who pretend they worked hard.

Yeah flawed thinking like the terrorists have is actually realistic. We also see that with the Fireflys on The Last of US. It's dumb but like you said, a lot of people think a lot of dumb things. The killing your test mate thing ... well, we've covered that. LOL
