Great reaction as always. * Robert Forster plays a new Sheriff Truman, who is a brother of the original Sheriff Truman. The original sheriff brother is sick. That's why Wally Brando was paying his respects to Robert Forster (Sheriff Truman #2) and hoping for his brother’s (Wally’s godfather) recovery. Robert Forster was actually their first pick to play Sheriff Truman in the original series but Forster turned it down. The actor that played Sheriff Truman is still alive in 2022 but he has been extremely sick for years and was unable to do the 2017 reboot. * At first it bothered me that people weren’t acting realistically around this catatonic Coop character, but I grew to just accept it’s a comic shtick. I don’t think they’re pretending that how people are reacting is actually real. * The casino management is happy to have Dougie come back to the casino because they’re confident for the time being nothing’s wrong..just that he got really really lucky. * The FBI agent Philip Jefferies that was discussed towards the end with whom Albert and Cooper were in contact was the character played by David Bowie in Fire Walk With Me. He may have been mentioned in the original series. I don’t recall yes or no. * I agree with you that Major Briggs and Wally Brando both speak in a slightly stilted, earnest, and ornate manner. But for me at least, the comparison stops there. I don’t see it as much as you do. As far as your theory about Wally Brando being the reincarnation of someone, when I was doing the rewatch of Season 1, I noticed that Lucy found out that she was pregnant in the same episode that Waldo the bird was killed. I asked Mark Frost and one of the other writers on Twitter whether the similar name WALly branDO was supposed to incorporate Waldo’s name as his human reincarnation. They said no but the other writer said he LOVED my idea and wished it was the case. * There will be some important teenage characters coming…but there is less of a focus than on the original show.

As to your second point, this show has always navigated that fine line between comedy and drama and it doesn't always pull it off (that Civil War crap) but here I think its fine I think its just a me problem.

Yikes. The one armed man actor died in December well fter we started our reactions here. I missed it somehowat the time. RIP. He really crushed it in original series, the movie, and in season 3.
