good stuff :) the youtube Channel Historia Civilis did a great series on ceasar and followup stuff if you are interessted in it go for it :)

It's hard to predict what's going to happen in stories based on history, using the same narrative techniques that help you predict stories that are totally made up, because some stuff like Ceaser's epilepsy are present in history-based stories just because they were present IRL even if it makes no narrative sense and wouldn't be in a totally fictional story. I dunno why they tried to make his epilepsy into a liability because that opens up a bunch of problems (the ones you list "what if someone sees him on the battlefield having a seizure" etc) that don't exist if it's not a liability he tries to hide (as it doesn't seem to have been IRL). Changing details of something real is likely to make it unrealistic so i dunno why they randomly changed this.

Its very interesting they changed this. Probably because they felt like modern audiences wouldn't understand the context that it wasn't considered bad back then?
