I think that last episode is more mocking crazy western anime fans than anime itself >_< If you couldn't tell, the ninja stuff is anime-only "filler" not in the manga; Hachimaki still hurts his foot in the manga, but because he has been too lazy to take the medicine you need to keep from getting brittle bones in the low gravity of space. Arranged marriages are still a thing in Japan (although the practice is declining, now representing only ~5% of marriages, unsure what it was like 20 years ago when this was made), hence the marriage meeting. The girl in the meeting is also a westerner who loves Japan, so that's a theme for that episode.
