FYI: The finale (which goes public on Dec 26th) won't be dropping on Early Access until after Sunday midnight.

Also, here's my rather long intro to Episode 84. https://youtu.be/S0wH4O3jzvI

The two that Conny shot are also throwbacks to season 1- Sasha saved Samuel in episodes 4/5 when the Colossal showed back up (if you remember, she sprinted down the wall and speared him with her gear to prevent him falling all the way to the ground), and Daz was seen here and there being sick/scared during Trost, and was also the one in the season 2 Christa/Ymir flashback that almost died in the snow. Keeping track of and remembering all of the characters on first watch is a lot, when you watch it again (especially after getting pretty far in), I think your brain kind of fixes on characters like Marco ("oh yeah, that guy") who was pretty much always with Jean (though I guess not when he overheard Reiner and Bertholdt talking about their titans). I'm guessing they felt the stakes were too high to take a chance on trying to talk Samuel and Daz over to their side, plus it's ironic (maybe that's not the best word) that the one who probably would have wanted to talk them over and would have tried pretty hard to do it had his face shot preventing him from doing just that in the moment.

I get what you're saying but I'll die on the hill that the one who was already physically subdued and not holding a weapon didn't need to be executed. You could have taken him prisoner. Not a plot hole or bad writing, I think the character made a huge mistake in the heat of the moment.
