I am not sure I buy your analogy with the car. Leland experienced the murders firsthand in the role of murderer even if he didn't have any agency over his actions. I could see how guilt could arise from that.

I totally see where you're coming from, I think my issue is one of scale. We don't know for sure how somebody would react to this because it can't happen in our world. But ALL writers have decided that there's only ONE way to react to this .... guilt. That's what I'm pushing back against. There is no situation we've ever seen that every single human being would react the same way to. So this was more a complaint in general than show specific.
