Note:America Dad took priority because the month is ending so I don't have memory this week to embed this video before Sunday after midnight. Since the episode drops on main just 9 hours after that, it's stupid to wait until then for early access. So, you may have picked up on some of these things in editing, but did you notice that we heard Levi’s last name for the first time near the end of episode 39? Kenny called him Levi Ackerman, which is also Mikasa’s last name- this is the first time we’ve heard it in the show. The people Sannes spoke about the first interior squad eliminating- you probably could realize that the teacher spoken about was Erwin’s dad, and the “whore” was Historia’s mother, but also the couple in the hot air balloon (of course killed for trying to leave the walls) I don’t think is confirmed in the anime, but they were Armin’s parents (why he was living with his grandfather when we first met him)- and remember Armin had “forbidden” books about the outside world from his grandfather. Levi does have great leadership qualities, but he’s more like mankind’s strongest soldier- Hange is maybe better at strategizing and leading, plus I’m thinking Levi would prefer to be in the thick of the action rather than standing back and directing for the most part, even though he would also be good. You seem to be grasping most of this pretty well for the first watch, and you brought up perspectives I hadn’t thought much about- a lot of episodes this season are massive information dumps that might take a few watches, or some pausing to digest it all- great reaction

Also, I agree that it’s good that you’re watching this sober- though taking a shot every time Mikasa yells “Eren!” would make a great drinking game lol
