Hello and happy Friday, Patrons! Grace here with some more sophisticated Friday dribble! How have your weeks been going? Finding yourself engaged in anything fun? Basking in any sublimely mundane activities? Swimming in the sweet nectar of nothingness? Over the last few years I've been attempting to appreciate a slow pace and allow myself to revel in creature comforts. After a decade of swimming upstream, motivated by the blind ambition of hustle culture, it feels nice to officially believe that the banal moments of watching TV on the couch or cooking a meal or reading a book bring me real joy.

Speaking of doing nice things for myself, here's the very chill and subtle light therapy mask I impulse bought myself at the end of last year.

I've only used it twice because it's, well, just look at it, it's a lot. And every time I put it on I have this inner suspicion that I got got. That this thing doesn't do shit and I've been swindled into looking like some sort of millennial-self-care-Jason-meets-Twitch-streamer-LED-background. Irregardless, I'll eventually use it again and let the placebo effect burn into me on a cellular level. And that's self care, bb!

Completely unrelated, I just learned that Wheel of Fortune has been renewed for five more years, which will bring it to it's 45th season. Vanna White has been touching letters for 40 YEARS (and counting). That's madness to me. They say we're all born with a specific calling in us - it makes me wonder what signs were there in Vanna's youth that lead to 40 YEARS of letter touching. Her kindergarten classmates didn't stand a chance after she learned the alphabet for the first time.

What else is going on? Do we care about the new Prince Harry memoir? I'll be honest, I don't. But media is really shoving this shit down my throat. No offense to anyone that is earnestly interested but it all feels a little TMI for me. I feel like some of these headlines I'm being force fed should be handled in therapy? *tugs unroyal collar*

Speaking of therapy, what are we watching these days? We're in a little lull of programming after we gorged ourselves on White Lotus (bless and protect Jennifer Coolidge, the queen of the Golden Globes and the walking personification of my eternal vision board). If you have any recs for new shows, let me know! Oh, anyone watching the new season of Drag Race? I am, and I'm very excited about these queens! I will say a 16 person talent show was A LOT, but I appreciate that it gave us a little taste of all of them. I also very much appreciate the Twitter discourse around Amethyst looking exactly like Jack Antonoff. Oh, that tweet got me good. Do we have any immediate favorites? I can't tell just yet, maybe after tonight's episode I'll have more of an opinion. But I will say that the twins have surprised me, and I don't wanna be a hater on their easily-hateable schtick. We all also assume at some point they're gonna have to lip sync against each other, right? My brother told me there was a rumor that the twins didn't have to audition for the show, that they were asked by production to come on board, so there's even more rumors flying that they've possibly been guaranteed a certain number of episodes .... BUT THAT'S ALL RUMORS. Don't quote me on that. In fact, you probably shouldn't quote me on anything ever. I truly don't know what I'm saying most of the time. And apparently neither do those grating yet charming twins!

Alright, I'm gonna wrap this up here. Apologies for a slightly shorter, slightly all over the place post this week. Actually, I'm not sorry, this is how it always is, who am I kidding. I'm no Brianna Wiest (have you started reading the book yet?). My dad and step mom are in town to see me and my step brother (he wasn't able to come home for Christmas) so I'm off to go walk around a botanical garden with them while LA presents a dry climate for a brief window of time! I hope you all have great weekends! Thanks for being here! 💚G

I’m listening to Prince Harry’s book and I haven’t heard anything earth shattering yet. It’s nice to hear him narrate his own story though. We just finished “Dead to Me” and I really enjoyed the series. 3 shorts seasons. We watched the first episode of Wednesday and I was bored the whole time. 20 minutes in I thought it would almost be over but NOPE. Hope you’re having a great week and find something fun to do!
