Happy Monday, weirdos! How's your week going so far? Mamrie is currently halfway around the world and I'm currently halfway back to being an actual human after a V fun birthday weekend. We pre-recorded this week's episode (it's the second half of last week, but you already know that because you guys are wonderful geniuses/geniusi(?) ). It's likely I'll forget a lot of the fun (I already have) because my brain can only retain reality TV plotlines as I I age, so I figured I'd tell you about some of the shenanigans here! Elliott and I had planned to go camping (glamping) up in Zion National Park in Utah and it just so happens that one of his favorite cities in the world, Vegas, was the halfway point between LA and the park. WE'D BE FOOLS (I see you, twalsh!) NOT TO STOP ON THE WAY. So, we did. For two nights. Then we moved on to Zion for a couple nights and it was all very wonderful. Here's a quick overview of some of the things I experienced/learned.
1. I think I'm starting to unironically enjoy Vegas. *heavy sigh* But I gotta 'cash out' at two nights. If you guys hear me talking in the future about staying longer than 48 hours POUND THE ALARM. It's too temptingly dangerous for me.
2. I only like games that involve computers and no humans. WHAT A SHOCK. At one point Elliott and I were playing electronic roulette next to each other and the machines on either side of us were out of order, so no one could use them and I ended up spending $60 extra just because I thought we had the most perfect seats in the casino and I didn't want to give them up to move on. Typing this out makes this sound very sad, BUT TRUST ME, it was very thrilling at the time.
3. Gordon Ramsey's restaurant is very delicious and it has a virtual Ramsey screaming insults right when you walk in. They know what they're doing and I approve.
4. Spaghetti should be a breakfast food.
5. I was very, very close to trying to slide into the DMs of Criss Angel (MINDFREAK, YOU GUYS) to attempt to get tickets to his show. I'm very happy to report I did not. The thought of being turned down by Criss Angel's social media team was worse than potentially going to the show. I have boundaries sometimes! I'm still slightly bummed I didn't. BUT I HAVE DIGNITY. But can you imagine??? My mind remains unfreaked.
6. Going from Vegas to a National Park IS JARRING AS F*CK. I don't think we were totally prepared. Going from smokey windowless buildings to vast, refreshing nature was A LOT.
7. I thought as a culture we'd reach the extent of the types of yoga that are available out there BUT I CAN CONFIRM WE HAVE NOT. I will actually save this story for the next time we record. All I gotta say is, it came out of nowhere and lasted for what seemed like hours.
THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID. Me said. Because I experienced it.
Anyway, I'll leave it at that for now! Just wanted to share the fun with y'all since I haven't been posting on social media as much these days. Hope you guys are having a wonderful start to your week! Anyone else get up to shenanigans this weekend? Let's hear em! Now I gotta go price some at-home electronic roulette machines. ❤️G
