Fight against leaks - Adding watermarks to animations (Patreon)
Content
So it's been pretty clear over these past few months that leaks have become increasingly more frequent. People are reposting the Patreon animations ahead of time on some major sites, with complete disregard for the fact I release them publicly after a single month of wait in high quality to begin with (or that the access fee is literally just 1 dollar). These low quality rips immediately get borrowed by bots, RP accounts and plenty of other users who sometimes aren't even aware this is exclusive/paid content you all subscribed for. It's extremely frustrating for a number of reasons.
Not only does it render Patreon useless as it destroys the short-term exclusivity I'm offering you, but it also really takes its toll on me mentally and makes it difficult to find the motivation to work on such projects again, given the sheer lack of respect in those actions. It's extremely hard to get in contact or to repay the damage that has been done. A couple of minutes is all it takes for a video to once again get posted elsewhere with no background check.
In order to fight such issues, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to watermark my animations going forward, put some big fat text over them (precisely, just my username + the mention "unreleased Patreon content" should suffice). This isn't a perfect solution, as I'm sure plenty of similar incidents will occur in the future. My animations will still get leaked regardless. However, I believe this could genuinely help mods and kind users decipher which content should be posted and which content shouldn't. By the time people even start thinking about whether or not the animation was released to the public, couple of hours usually pass which is more than enough for many to snatch it away. In turn, this will help stop the spread.
I wish I could keep my work clean and free of such noise, but it unfortunately only takes one or two idiots to ruin the fun for everyone. This is why we can't have nice things. Still, I hope you'll understand this decision. That being said, I refuse to ignore for a second the sheer amount of kindness and support I've gotten here from you all. It means so, so much to me, which is the very reason why I'm so worried when it comes to these things.
I wanna do right by you. Please continue believing in me from here on out. ❤
