*I'm deaf in my right ear which is why I'm not wearing headphones. I know, it's a bummer not to get the panning sounds. It's also been a bummer to only have one ear my whole life for lots of other reasons, like, playing telephone growing up, I was terrible at it. But, I'll be ok, and I'm getting both channels in the earbud, thanks for your concern :)

Because the song had a similar feel to some from the first album, and also because the move to being a duo felt like a new start, the video is like a callback in several moments - the church pews and top hat look is from ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedies’ video and there’s a clock set at ‘Nine (in the afternoon)’. The whole plot with the steps for a Victorian era funeral and the whodunnit could also be taken as ways to stop the dead communicating with the living or something along those lines. Similarly it could also be a homage and closure to the previous lineup and draw a fresh beginning for the band as a duo.

Sometimes a song having multiple different parts/choruses can work really well but others can feel a bit all over the place. There’s a few songs I can think of, I think there’s been a couple you’ve reacted to previously where you’ve mentioned that also. Back when this came out in 2011 I really like the 2nd single to this album ‘Ready To Go (Get Me Out of My Mind)’ too.
