Once again, a huge thanks to Manatees! I felt that the old Taylor mixtapes were a little bit rushed and these last two were great... with the parts that I love in your reactions shining: really taking the time to analyze the lyrics and playing guitar after listening to the song. Thanks Jersh!

hahaha. getaway car isn't about her falling for a bad boy. HE was a nice guy. She was on a rebound relationship and took this nice guy for a ride in a getaway car. But, nothing good starts in a getaway car (rebound) and eventually she left him too like all rebound relationships, she eventually (quickly) left him. left him in the motel bar and she was driving away. She was drinking probably a lot during this time because she was depressed and hit rock bottom, probably drinking a lot. But, that's what Reputation is about. Meeting and finding someone at the worst possible time of her life, when it was just a struggle to make it through the day. King of My Heart has a great bridge. Of course you brought up Cruel Summer, which is about Reputation. So, that makes sense. The main theme of Reputation is in the King of My heart bridge: say you fancy me, not fancy stuff. drinking beer out of plastic cups because that's really what she wants, she is fancy but wants someone who sees beyond that, the stuff, the fancy stuff, crystal glasses and just wants to sit on the deck with plastic red solo cups. Thats what she wants and thats what she found. I imagine when you are Taylor Swift, its hard to know who likes you for who you are and who your persona is. This is why we can't have nice things is about Kanye West and Kim Kardashian who set her up on the phone, by editing a tape to make it seem like Taylor agreed to a lyric in Kanye's song when he called her a b****. So, this is calling him out on it, she gave him multiple chances to be a good friend, but he constantly uses her and makes her a pushover for allowing him to even convince her that he was a genuine friend. So, she took an axe to that mended fence.
