Just showing off some recent work. While I recently showcased the beginnings of my dialogue system, the sprites used for the characters were from an unrelated game. Although the system still needs a bit of work, the coding is far enough along that I can focus on doing some art for it - and that's what this is. Each sprite is planned to use two frames (to simulate talking). It's a little blurry in the preview, so if you want to see it clearly, you'll have to click on the image to view it un-stretched.

You can see how Elayne got progressively better with each iteration of her speaker sprite. I often find myself struggling with the face shapes, so it took a bit to get there with her. The process is a bit like painting, but because it's done with clearly visible pixels on such a small scale, it's far too easy to have a bunch of unflattering jagged edges - especially with the face.
