I got my second covid shot, so I’m feeling a bit sluggish, but it’s okay. I planned for this week to be unproductive due to the vaccine, so we’re still on schedule. That said, I am re-examining my decisions and whether I’m using my time wisely…

Time is limited and my income hasn’t improved since last year. I’ve talked about this before, at several points since February last year. Since my home has been recently appraised, I expect it is only a matter of time before I must find a new place to live, and I am not financially prepared to do so. So, I may need to change how I do things…

The Beaumont Comic

Let’s be real… The Beaumont comic WILL sell poorly. The content of this product is not very marketable and will only appeal to a small minority of people who are actively interested in it. The subject matter is niche, and the paywall will make it even less accessible. So, I will have spent two whole months working on a product that will perform poorly. It’s a vanity project, and is perhaps not the best use of my time…

Perhaps I need to prioritize commissions & mass market appeal with fan art & hornier artwork? On that note, Metroid Dread might be a popular subject to explore in October.

So, what do we do?

I could postpone the current project and publish it another time. Alternatively, I could post the finished pages onto Twitter and instead focus my efforts on commissions and the like. Should I do the latter, I’d still like to finish one more chapter before moving on, which I could reasonably do within a week.

Even without this product, I can still do something special for Elayne Beaumont in October. Like curating an entire month of content built around the setting; a BeauMONTH if you will.

Anyway… I’ve got a few days to think about this before it disrupts my work schedule, so I have a bit of time to decide. Feel free to share your thoughts.
