Summer Daisy (Patreon)

The 1st place winner of July's Voting Poll is: Princess Daisy!

I ended up having to redo this once or twice, because my previous ideas just weren't as good. I'm glad I did, however, because I knew I wasn't planning to render it like the previous illustrations, and I needed it to still feel visually strong. 

While the line art is still rough like my usual sketches, I spent a bit more time focusing on the weight and form, so it feels a little bit more dynamic than it ordinarily would. Also, while the background characters aren't the focus, we've got cameos in the form of Mario, Link, and Samus, who help make the piece feel a bit deeper than my usual pinups. There's just a general sense of boldness about a handful of different elements in the work.
