Mindfulness

While I managed to complete the promised artwork for this month, it wasn’t necessarily because I had fully recovered from my burnout (if we’re going to call it that). So, I need to be mindful of stress in the future. I can’t afford to screw up again like that, as it will only foster unreliability. I’ll have to make some change to alleviate further pressure, whether that’s in my work or the Patreon experience itself. Perhaps we’re due for a bit of simplification or a change in direction.

Maybe I just need to spend some time creating what I want, and when I want… Something to consider. So, with that said: I think I’m probably done for the month…

But there might be another post or two. We’ll have to see.

Revisiting Dreams (PS4)

I decided to scrap Elayne’s whip (it was difficult to make work properly for now) and settled on a sword. You can see recent bits of progress on Twitter or the Dropbox Archive. If at all possible, I’d like to work on this a little bit every now and then. Maybe make a PS1/N64 type of game…?

Idea: Choose your own Adventure

This could make for an interesting alternative to our patron sketch suggestions & voting polls, while also providing an opportunity for more engaging & collaborative content.

So, there are two options:

  • Simple prompts with preset options, like the usual voting polls.
  • Patron-driven (like PREQUEL), in which your suggestions help progress the story.

We can use these opportunities to tell isolated stories in the Beaumont setting, or even something like… Link’s Bad Day, the Adventure… Perhaps like a game of D&D, where we collectively decide where to go next. Patron involvement can help influence the types of characters, scenarios, bad ends, fetishes, etc. Then we can string a series of those for one large (or short) adventure.

So yeah... It’s just an idea. Nothing super concrete just yet.

Anyway, that’s the bulk of what I’ve been thinking about for now.

Don’t forget to eat & sleep.

The Choose Your Own Adventure format could still be fun, especially if it made things easier for you.

If there's ever anything I can do to help with the stress, by all means let me know. It's important to make sure you take time for yourself, too.

If you do decide to do a "Choose Your Own Adventure," make sure to keep everything simple art-wise. Do it in a way like Homestuck and Prequel where you can reuse backgrounds, figure drawings, etc. Having to make every new prompt panel from scratch for every minor suggestion seems like it would just exacerbate the workload (and burnout).
