An unusually quiet month. Although I had some plans, I didn’t get to do everything I wanted this month. So, I guess it was a bad month. Still, make sure to check the Dropbox Archive if you haven’t already.

Exhaustion

For the first time in my life, I’ve found myself thinking “I don’t want to draw; I’d rather be doing anything else right now.” So, I’ve spent a lot of this month sleeping or playing video games. I guess I’ve been a bit depressed as of late.

A friend of mine recently told me that they’ve been feeling exhausted, and that their work is suffering because they aren’t drawing what they’re passionate about. It’s a reasonable conclusion to arrive upon, and I wonder if that’s also the case for me too. I’ve often talked about that kind of thing before; creating work because you must meet deadlines or fulfill certain requirements, instead of drawing your passions and experimenting with new ideas. Ah… Who knows?

I’ll try to create a lot more fun artwork in April.

Commissions

I’ve recently come to the realization that I’m probably not going to be end up becoming widely popular any time soon, and only so many people aren’t going to want to support me to make the things I want. So, I’ll need to take on commissions again soon – and regularly.

Although apprehensive, I have been considering pricing them at $80. With this new price, I may be able to settle with 12 – 16 each month, instead of 16 – 20.

Anycow, I guess that’s all for now. Thank you for your patience & support.

Don’t forget to eat & sleep.

There may not have been a lot of art this month, but what's here is still very good. As for commissions, I would argue you're underpricing yourself. I feel $100 is the lowest you should set them.

As someone who's commissioned you before I can absolutely say you should raise your prices to take care of yourself. Burnout is a terrible feeling, so definitely do what's best for your health. You do awesome work and I'm sure tons of people are here to support you
