Amaranthus Caudatus (Patreon)

Here's a drawing of Amaranth, a character of mine. I've talked about this character in older Concept Art posts and they appeared in the Beaumont Prototype comic, so if you're new to the character, that's where you could go to find out more, I guess. 

This was one of my first warm up sketches in my most recent streams, but it looked cool so I put a bit more work into it. It's a bit visually messy, with some needless noise -- but it is the first drawing of this character surrounded by tentacles that came out looking good, I think. I don't ordinarily share sketches like this with you, but it was visually interesting enough.

The red pattern is supposed to resemble brain tissue, but it looks a little bit like rose petals flowing in the wind. That, and the fact that the tentacles are green & thorny, almost make it look like the character is surrounded by plants, and that's pretty cool.
