[Feed] Closing Thoughts to February (Patreon)

There are only 2 more days left in the month, so I think I'm done working until March. I might create one or two more sketches until then, but I don't want to make any promises. I'll be taking commissions on a regular basis soon, so I need to mentally prepare for that. I'd like to be earning more money via Patreon, but I think I've done as much as I can in February.

A lot of stuff has been going on, and a lot more stuff will happen, so I could really use this time to relax. Oh, and I'm sorry about the frequency of Feed posts lately, but I guess I've just had a lot of thoughts.

From now on, I'm going to try to include a quick preview of everything discussed in posts like this, since I know that not all of you read them. This way, you can at least skim through the preview to determine if anything will be of interest to you.

Personal Thank You

Thank you, new patrons, for making the decision to support me on Patreon, and thank you, pre-existing patrons, for having increased your pledge in light of recent events. With all that's been going on, I have been feeling almost exclusively anxious & scared. I only ever want to be an artist, and your support helps to make that possible. I will always work to provide the most enjoyable experience that I can.

Hentai-Foundry Comic

I was talking to a friend about how I planned to spend several months creating a comic and selling it on Gumroad (or something). They suggested that it was a good idea to not put everything behind a paywall, and I expressed a general dislike for paywalls. I just want to create art and share it for free, even if I probably can't always afford to do that…

The Beaumont prototype comic was free, making it accessible to readers who had no prior interests in the character (my least popular character). But ideally, I'd continue to publish works like that for free on a regular basis. My friend said that this sounds like a web comic model. Now, we've talked about the prospect of publishing adult web comics in the past, especially in relation to Beaumont. I was always uncertain about it because of my odd update schedule and the difficulty in finding web hosting that will allow adult content, as well as a bunch of other messy logistics. 

So, my friend suggests setting up a comic on Hentai-Foundry. Although HF isn't perfect, it can provide the platform to host such a comic, and with some basic html, can be used to link pages together. Also, I can just post pages whenever I'm ready instead of making readers wait 3-4 months to read a story.

That said, I don't know if this is an ideal solution. It's just something that I'm thinking about, so I thought I would share it with you. It's definitely less proactive in generating income than selling a story would be.
