Cloudy with a Chance of Link (Patreon)

I suppose there isn't very much to say of this particular piece, it's Link with some clouds.

Definitely in the direction of those recent high-quality works, but I feel like this one just doesn't do quite as good a job as the last few. Perhaps I just didn't have a strong direction, or I took longer than desired. One thing's for sure, I'll have to really think about how I handle background rendering for stuff, because I can't get caught up rendering the little details. Especially since I don't do it as well as I could.

The background clouds should probably have a richer arrangement of colours, but you might notice they're not a pure white. It's generally unnatural to paint clouds or snow a pure white -- there's usually yellows, reds, and blues present in their mass. The eyes are similar, the white of the eye isn't a perfect white. In fact, they're a slight blue colour here, reflecting the blue from the skies around the character.

For cartooning, we often simplify colour, like the white of eyes, but realistically, they'd be affected by the lighting conditions of the area.
