Hey gang!

So another month has passed with no video. Apologies for that, I seem to have shifted into a bi-monthly upload system. That wasn't the plan, but I decided to take things a bit easier on myself in September. I got caught up on some personal projects, I have a couple of medical check-ups (I'm fine!), celebrated my son's 6th birthday. A bunch of self-care stuff really.

It's not all been personal stuff though. I've been working with some artists on some new merch designs. Here's a sneak peak at some early drafts:

This is in preparation for TWO conventions I have this month.

But also, I have been chipping away at the new video, where I explore the history and evolution of the Pizza Planet Truck, Pixar's most popular easter egg, to answer the question - why? Out of all the elements from Toy Story 1 they could have had become a recurring hidden object in (almost) every movie, why the big awkward pizza truck?

I hope to lock down (and share) the script this week.

"This truck was hard to model." "We'd better get our mileage out of it!" 🥁

I mean I always assumed they reused the truck in A Bug's Life because they needed a run-down vehicle and it was the only existing model that matched that description, then it came back in Toy Story 2 for plot reasons, and in Monsters Inc they outright reused the whole caravan and truck scene from A Bug's Life... so maybe at that point it became deliberate to sneak it in everywhere? Likely if you're doing a vid on it it's going to be a more interesting story than that, though. Take your time with the selfcare and family stuff, but I'm looking forward to this one!
