When it comes to the Oscars, one thing I've always wondered is how do they decide on the nominees and winners for Best Animated Feature. Is it based on technical skill? Is it based on entertainment? Is it just because Disney made it?

I did a deep dive into the Academy Award process and what I found is an incredible infuriating and broken system. So what started as a curiosity has turned into a search for how low can this possibly go? What's worse is, it doesn't have to be like this.
