(TW: re. Transphobia and Reproductive Rights)

Hey everyone! Apologies for the delayed release of a podcast this month. However, this allows me to try out something new.

I had a very different Aardman themed video idea before it became the Dreamworks one that just released. And rather than totally ditch that script, I present it here just for you instead! Here is a more politically charged analysis of how Chicken Run explores the topic of Freedom.

Incredible podcast, Eddie! I used to study this very topic in uni, so I ate this up. I have several things to say, so bare with me. Firstly, STOP APOLOGIZING! You're not Canadian. Seriously though, I'm sure the majority of us patrons want to support you because we already enjoy what you provide for free on YouTube. Are the Patreon perks great? Of course! But there are no extra expectations. At least from me. Secondly, while this subject would have made a fantastic video, I have to agree with your decision to do what you did instead. The topic is indeed still very raw, and as you're not American nor "female," as well intentioned as you would have been it would potentially come off as a man speaking from his privileged position. Thirdly, at around minute 30 you start to get into the nitty gritty of the concept of freedom, what it really is. I feel that you started going down a slippery slope (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slippery_slope) about one's freedoms encroaching on another's. Specifically, when you discuss running down the street naked and screaming. That is miles away from hoarding money. It is only because of the West's taboo against naked bodies that your wangle dangle could be seen as inhibiting another's freedom. And freedom from what? Freedom to what? As long as you don't go after people "head" first, your just some dude naked and running down the street. This ultimately hurts no one. And finally, to answer your question posed at the end, I would LOVE more podcasts like this. I love hearing other people's thoughts, points of view, and better understanding how others' thought processes work. The more we listen, the more we can improve communication and really connect with others. Also, reminder: PUNCH YOUR SELF DOUBT IN THE FACE! <3
