BUY THE EDDACHE PLUSH TODAY!

After buying my own plush from Sweet Beans Comix, I looked more into the makers of the plush, Makeship

Basically, Makeship produce collectable plushies almost like a kickstarter. If they sell X amount, the plush gets made, and it's just a one-time run. So I thought making an Eddache plush would be fun! Plus, I was looking to improve my own general sense of self-worth, ignoring the little voice inside my head that said no-one will care about this, and wanted to push for this to happen.

I reached out to Makeship and after a few back and forths, a plushie was getting made.

The first step was to help Makeship's designs with how the Eddache character looks. I provided them with this character guide.

Makeship plushies tend to have a similar format and proportions (think like Funko-Pops but not actually Funko-Pops god no). But I wanted a few unique elements to make this plush recognisably Eddache. The main thing - his nose. Eddache has such a big bulbous nose and the Makeship plushes generally go without a nose for that simple uniform design. But I pushed for a nose and they were very accommodating.

The Eddache character is something of an optical illusion as he technically wouldn't be possible in a 3D space. I don't think any of us want to see Eddache facing frontwards! But Makeship were pretty used to turning those optical illusion type characters into a recognisable plushie, so I was happy to follow their lead - as long as he had a nose!

Here is an early design:

It's looking pretty good! They did well to capture the character but under heavier scrutiny, I found some elements I wanted fix. After all, if this was gonna be a one-time thing, I wanted it done right!

My main requests were to make the eyes taller, fix beard/hair lines and, of course, full on left-mouth! It wouldn't be Eddache without left-mouth! So once we agreed upon these changes, we moved onto the proof version!

They flagged this version is missing the eyebrows. But the main worry was the head was too wide. The character's head is quite narrow and although this plush is stylised differently, we agreed to reduce the size a little.

So after a few more tiny tweaks...

Here he is!
