Allergies circa 14th century China and Europe (Patreon)

I was playing around with clothing and aesthetic concepts for my Ancient China storyline and wanted to see what equivalent clothing (and allergies) could have looked like in a very different part of the world but in the same era. So here is a depiction of allergies from 14th century China as well as Eastern Europe. I rather like the traditional folk attire. And both ladies look so sneezy and miserable. I wonder if back then they just felt like they were sick with any other really bad cold, though some must have realized their noses get particularly runny and itchy when in the presence of certain flowers or weeds.
