Yggdrasil is the name of the spot where Odin hanged himself (the name is basically a pun on gallows combined w/ one of Odin's nicknames/aliases, as well as horse basically, essentially a double pun I suppose, it essentially can be interpreted as "Odin's Horse" because of this, translating loosely) for 7 days, tight-roping between dead & alive, just so he could do this neat physics engine exploit to learn some magic runes. In fact it worked much the same way as what Jesus did, he sacrificed himself for himself, which increased his own power in the end, as esoteric metaphysics tend to work like that

Yo this ep gave me the same awesome vibes I got in season 1. I felt it in my soul and I'm thoroughly pleased. Glad you guys are enjoying this

DevilMayCarter

See I thought it was just me. This did feel like a Season 1 episode. Rule of Three is in effect, Shield Bois...we back up!

DevilMayCarter

When the flag got taken...ngl that had me a little heated. Which is good that the show is making me feel something again.

Siltvelt is a country that not only worships the Shield Hero, but is run by Demi-humans. Those nobles who hate Demi's are going to be slaves to Demi's.

The Law_v1001

Yeah that was a wild ending because it seems like their his kids. Could be his sister's but the fact she said his presence was like her brothers makes it seemed more like it was his kids. Interesting to see how this story plays out. They are doing a great job of character building in this season.

Come on YBRL where is your rage for "Free all the slaves, even those 2 fake daddy ordered slaves". You guys jumped on Rudeus for not freeing all the slaves :D. In serious note how does he accept really those slave merchants, in season 1 it was understandable as he had trust issues and thought only slave fighter could help him, but he is now cured of that so Naofumi is really twisted in the head.

@8:53 A detail I really appreciated was watching Atla's "Death debuff" blink and then disappear.

Yaboyrocklee

Haha. I know its a partial my desire to see the men suffer long miserable deaths trumps my principles on slavery and they were seeking to enslave the children. So what ever makes them suffer pleases me. My vengefulside and pettiness are pretty stronge attributes. I don’t articulate my vengeful side cuz its pretty dark lol

twinuzis

shield hero is back man I hope the rest of the season is consistent as well

Wait...do I get this right? (Novel readers don't confirm/deny it, unless it was stated in the novel exacly in this point) The king, aka Trash, aka Staff Hero had a sister. Sister was kidnaped by the demi-human nation (king?), and these 2 tiger demi-humans are the resoult of that? If thats correct suddenly I don't blame him for being giga racist back in s1...I mean it's still bad but he had a pretty good reason for that

8:30 Yggdrasil is the Tree of Life or World Tree from Norse Mythology. Its hugely important to Norse mythology.
