I think you’re right. Friend A voice sounded like a girl. “He” has a face and eyes. This anime already established non important characters will have no face and eyes. So for “him” to have eyes, “he” shouldn’t be a one time character.

I was just pleasantly surprised that you're picking up this kind of show since I kinda assumed you didn't like them before when you didn't touch KanoKano's season 1 as it aired. Its second season is currently airing with 100Kano so this is a very bountiful fall season with several other great ongoing shows. I also noticed that this season has coincidentally several "redo" time travel stories and they're all good so far. You'd probably end up picking a couple or few of them some time in the future.
