I wonder if Sam is more like Legion - where he has multiple powers. Considering that Jordan seems to have multiple abilities ( each form seems to have its own powers plus there’s the ability to switch forms), how far a stretch would it be to have Sam be imprisoned because he’s not only mentally broken but also entirely too powerful to be allowed out? Just shooting out ideas.

he will come probably near the end. or as a cameo somewhere. they already brought back alot of the Vought's main cast but purposely left Homelander out for a reason. Because he comes in....it will be only the most grand of entrances

9:33 Technically Emma's bulimia is purely for physiological function and not due to compulsion or obsession so its not a mental illness. I have physiological bulimia due to a genetic condition so I throw up several times a day when I eat and Emma's situation seems more like that to me than the people I know with bulimia nervosa.

Both characters are mirroring real life scenarios of a person cutting themselves or throwing up for body image. In this case both deeds are done also as a function of their powers. So its meant to be looked at critically and from a commentary perspective we gotta be sensitive. The mental aspect for both characters is they tend cut or purge when they are down/sad and to fit in. So there is 100% a mental component but its not apples to apples with real life because they have powers that benefit from their behavior
