I am here for history! All jokes aside, this community is PEAK. We had fun these few weeks and everyone indulged me in my excitement for this film. Great reaction! So this is supposed to take place around the Heart Kingdom training arc but before the Spade arc starts. Asta in the movie hasn't made a pact with Liebe, but Liebe helped Asta out cause he knew that Asta couldn't win on his own

The movie is canon if u go back liebe said he will collect his dept from asta also nacht knew about the black bulls it still fits perfectly to the story , if no one believes why did they publish a lightnovel and a volume for it . Takes place during the 6 months timskip

the movie takes place between 158-170 if we are pasting it toe the anime time line this movie isnt technically canon youre right but Tabata did say the characters are fully canon to the universe and he didnt rule out the films plot having something to do with the manga timeline. supposedly the fans that attended the theater screening in japan got a limited edition volume with info on all the characters and a short story that links the movie to the manga time line but im not sure if thats been confirmed

The movie was meh. Nice action. I honestly didn't expect much. This series is so cliche and trope character driven that I could call out everything that was gonna take place before it even started. One cliche after the other. The characters are so insanely stuck to their own tropes and one dimensional characters that you know exactly what and how they will act every single time they show up. After most of my life watching anime it gets boring seeing this type of stuff constantly repeated. I was honestly more annoyed than anything cause I was hoping it would be a movie where they didn't focus on the same boring repetitive cliche black clover stuff. I like the series for what it is. I just didn't find anything other than the action to be somewhat entertaining. I had to skip through the typical asta "motivational speech" stuff cause I just couldn't be bothered. Its not all bad when there are tropes and cliche stuff in anime. I just can't handle it when its so insanely repetitive and extra to the point where I know what every character will be like every single time they show up. Also they downgraded the females like boruto anime did with Hinata. The boobs were downsized in this movie. That is a for sure negative on my end. I need my tig ol bitties. If people want to call this hating I won't argue with black clover stans. I see this as valid criticism of the series and its characters. Not actual hating for the sake of it.

39:30 I just want to point out that Asta can borrow magic with the Demon Dweller as well he just sucks at it since he can't sense mana. The Imperial Sword is just a knockoff of Licht's version of the Demon Dweller after all.

i am a lazy person when it comes to driving or getting around, so spatial ability sounds right up my ally as I would only need to travel to a place once just to be able to teleport there over and over and not waste my time just to get there. Grim, Isn't like mid like 5/10 in the rating scale? its nor good or bad, Im confused why so defensive on this. Is the word just means something different now? I know yeaboyrocklee audience is 50% in the US so I dont know what the mid term evolves to in that country. Personaly my opinion on this movie is 6/10 its an okay movie. if the show itself we are talking about its in high 6 in low moment or solid 7 in high moments. if we are talking about the manga its definitely high 7 cause no filler and a fast read.

Jomekko, I’m not trying to be defensive cause I’m not on the fence to be honest, only explaining my point of view on my statement, and my bad for assuming you said I was sarcastic, but the movie is highly rated, if people don’t like black clover they don’t gotta watch it, same for anything else, I was referring to the people who go to every episode and say “mid” or that it’s not good, I didn’t state that mid meant bad, I simply stated that objectively when more people like it than not who actually watch it, it’s probably not bad. But this shouldn’t be so confusing so I’m not really tryina argue, we are all supposed to be the rock lee community I was mostly saying that the negative comments were pointless, and then others came to me and started defending themselves lol. Although I do see in my last reply where it can be assumed that I said mid meant bad, that wasn’t my intention, my bad :).

Nah this movie slaps 10/10 they was cooking with the animation. I needed that. When Nacht first met Asta, he said doing the right thing isn’t always rewarded so I’m glad they gave him that screen time at 1:47:00. Amazing movie. Giving Yuno and Noelle those fight scenes was a chefs kiss

This movie is set in between the Spade Kingdom Invasion arc, meaning Asta hasn't made the contract yet and some people don't have the full extent of their magic.

This movie establishes that everyone even the captains admitted unofficially that Asta is the future Wizard King. The rebellion scene before the Base-Plane hit the barrier, even the captains asked Asta to give his speech about starting the attack. That’s one hell of an acknowledgment from the captains. Yuno is just there to mess with Asta, but he also acknowledges Asta as the future Wizard King already. But that’s based on this movie only. Since it wasn’t canon, it’s just a fake satisfaction about Asta getting everybody’s acknowledgment.

To be fair, most people coming to comment "mid clover", with nothing else to add mean it as a criticism or insult. The word is slowly starting to be interpreted in these online communities as a bad thing. Those who come to every comment section just to inform everyone that they think a show is mid while adding nothing else to the conversation do so implying they believe other's who enjoy that show have lesser taste... it's surprisingly immature and attention seeking.

Not even close; even the original Pokemon and Digimon movies crush this one not to mention masterpiece's like Howl's Moving Castle or Spirited Away. Its a solid movie but nothing all that special, and its full of inconsistencies with the series.

The Backstories of the Previous Wizard Kings in the Novel: • Conrad: Conrad was born into a noble family but due to his thief-like unlocking magic, he was shunned by those around him, leading to a lonely childhood. As he grew older, he discovered the true value of key magic but as people feared its power, the gap between him and those surrounding him was never bridged. Conrad joined the magic knights, where he met a young Julius and a caring young woman from the forsaken realm, Lovilia. Conrad learnt to trust these two and as a result, began to open up to those around him. Conrad kept gaining achievements together with his companions and eventually became the magic knights captain of the squad "White Serpent". Conrad's life was going smooth while married to his vice captain Lovilia, one day received a mission for his squad. However, it turned out to be a trap set by the royal faction, who hated him. Devastated at the loss of Lovilia and dozens of members of his squad during this mission, Conrad became consumed with anger. Despite Julius's desperate attempts to persuade him, Conrad's darkness deepened. To eradicate discrimination and prejudice, and build a country where everyone can laugh together-Conrad, now the Wizard King, aimed to achieve his ideals. But he was unable to bring about change, and his despair only deepened. The only way to change this country is to "truly rebuild it"...?! The dangerous thoughts in his mind were not subdued and he immersed himself in researching ancient magic tools. Eventually he stole the natural treasure "Imperial Sword" and started a rebellion. Jester, who achieved great success as a captain has finally risen to the rank of Wizard King. One day, Tenor's home village is invaded again by the enemy. Despite being called "Mad King" due to his ambitions initially, he gradually earned the support of the people. However he fell into the trap of the royal faction who disliked his growing influence, and he lost his life in the process of achieving his goal. • Princia: Princia is born as the eldest child of a fallen noble family. The family hoped to lead a peaceful life and rule their land such way, but greedy nobles took possession of the family's lands. Under their relentless harassment, Princia decided to fight to protect her family and her people. After receiving her grimoire, Princia was recruited into the "Blue Roses" magic knights squad. Being undefeated, her fame grew day by day and in order to strengthen their influence, the royal faction half-forcibly installed her as the Wizard King. As the war with the Diamond Kingdom reached its final stages, Princia's family and people from her land were taken hostage by the enemy. However, the generals, fearing that Princia would leave the front lines, decided not to tell her this. Thus, Princia lost something precious in exchange for victory... Princia, exploding with anger towards her strategists, got stripped of her title as Wizard King and imprisoned with her magic sealed. The village where she was imprisoned got attacked one day by bandits, whom she decided to fight despite her magic being sealed, sacrificing her life in the process. • Edward: Edward was a man with a promising future, but he had no interest in pursuing a career and spent most of his time in church listening to the sermons of priests. When he learns of the harsh conditions faced by those without magic power, he decides to leave his home and become a priest, taking in orphaned children and caring for them. Ten years later, in the midst of intensifying war with the Diamond Kingdom, a sudden tragedy happened. Edward's orphanage fell victim to an enemy raid, and the children lost their lives. For the first time in his life, Edward used magic with all his might to destroy the enemy, and decided to join the magic knights to prevent such a tragedy from happening again. Edward, who's generous and always there for the weak, is well-liked by the people and eventually became the Wizard King. However, royalty and nobility strongly opposed his aim of eliminating the boundaries between the royal, common and forsaken realms. Through their scheming, Edward was stripped of his position as the Wizard King. Having abandoned his faith in God, Edward formed a resistance to seek revenge against the royals and nobles who plotted against him. He continues to eliminate those in power, believing that it is the only way to save their corrupted heart. However, this was not long-lived and he was eventually captured and executed Tabata sensei supervised the film, and it is actually canon to the Black Clover storyline! Apparently he wanted to include this in the manga, but decided against it but it later was used as the film we have today. Canonically, it takes place between Vol.23 and Vol.24 - the end of the Elf Saga, and the beginning of the Spade Saga, during the 6 months time skip. iirc those who went to see the first screenings of the film got Vol.23.5 which contains the backstories for the 4 previous WKs
