I agree with all your points. The main message of Canute I gathered honestly is the most practical solution for peace. Conquering and stabilizing people who on there own will wage war against each other. Alot of the message is coded but if you think of peace as (paradise) and god as (human nature) we can understand Canute message clearly. Peace through strength is alot of what you guys including me have been understanding and coming to term with. It’s just we have the POV of the minority (Ketil Farm is like a 5% of people in his territory) who’s a victim by circumstance. I feel that POV gives some pause in his judgment. Although Canute ideals is pratical like Lee said it’s not perfect and extremely difficult (why it’s an ideal imo) and like Adorkable said hypocritical

gods i love this episode. not only Thorfinn's "true warrior" moment but also Canute's ideals. Imo, both are right and wrong. Thorfinn chases ideals with idealistic means. He wishes to be a warrior that doesnt use violence first and attempt to talk out things first. However, hes only able to do that because hes strong af. Just like his father Thors. So in the end, becoming a true warrior requires strength beyond normal. Or else, he wouldve just gotten bodied there lol. Unless everyone in the world sees it his way, theres no way to get around life without violence or enemies. Canute on the other hand, chases ideals with realistic means. He wants to create a world where Vikings can live since he believes they are already unable to reach paradise with their evil. He wishes to control them through force, hence he needs to be the most powerful king in order to unite them. He wishes to get rid of the barbaric methods in order to tame them and make them live in his society he deems as peaceful. His path is, ironically, the bloodiest path. Love his speech still though, especially the moment where he proved a point above him having so much power, yet he is still at the mercy of God.

Many parallels between Thorfinn and the story of Jesus Christ. Honestly without adding any details and trying to sum it up you could say the image Thors and Thorfinn are striving toward is what Jesus Christ is.

Agree. Its funny seeing Canute who did nothing but stay faithful and praise God become turned against it and in his own thinking going against God means bringing about paradise and peace. On the opposite side Thorfinn leans more toward learning the bible and its scripture this season. I said it in another comment but the act of becoming a "true warrior" and achieving the ideals set out by Thors and currently happening to Thorfinn is technically what the story of Jesus Christ represents and who he was as a person. Obviously not completely but a lot of parallels are set up. Thorfinn is set up to go further than what Thors could accomplish but its cool to see all the connections between the bible and what is happening here.

The moment Thorfinn said "I don't have any enemies" solidified ALL of the development he has gotten this season. Echoing his dad's exact words he told him as a kid in his own monumental moment showing who he is. Its just really great.

Great reaction guys!!!! I’m sorry….. but don’t y’all know that thorfinn is a literal weapon, so he can’t just fight back against a mere 100 fighters or drift the bear killer, it’s not enough. Mappa doesn’t even have to use the budget for a hundred guys against thorfinn.
