it's not for everyone, honestly it wasn't even clicking with me first few episodes...like it was funny and good...but I dunno as I reached the end it picked up. i picked up the Manga after and the manga did a better job at the elements I was missing from the anime...but overall..fun experience

Thus it’s up to you whether you want to continue or not, but it’s definitely a fun anime. It’s not my peak, but I definitely enjoyed it watching Lee’s reactions and laughing with them.

I'd agree with the comments here, it's a pretty slow burn, but the payoff is good if you view it with the right mindset, it definitely grows on you.

I don't like gigguk or "the anime man" even tho he no longer does shit about anime. I mildly like Cdawg. So the entire trash taste crew is pretty meh to me. Just my opinion. Don't really care what his opinion is on anime

I haven't watched enough of him to get that impression but to each his own. I used to watch Otakuassemble and Uberhikari wayyy back in the day like 2011. The anime youtube scene has changed a lot since then.

Objectively, Eminence in Shadow is a “trashy” or “bad” isekai, but I don’t say that in a negative way. The reason behind that kind of label is because, at the end of the day, it’s NOT an isekai that’s going to attract an audience of people who typically dislike the isekai genre for various overused tropes and/or simple writing. It is still a harem, it is still an OP protagonist, still does a ton of fanservice, and the plot is predictable at every turn with a lack of depth. However, that DOESN’T make it a bad show, and it is still wildly entertaining/fun to watch, and remains a perfect example of a “trashy” isekai being a good anime. Gigguk often considers Re:Zero and Mushoku Tensei to be the king of “good” isekai, because these shows have a sense of writing and usage/non-usage of tropes that allow the shows to transcend the genre and be more than just “isekai,” while also being favorites of/and attracting audiences of even people who hate isekai

I bet your bookshelf will be full of more "Eminence in Shadow" books after you watch season 2. This reminds me of when I ended up buying the "Re:Zero" novels after watching the anime... the shelves are full now. Enjoy the read man!
