Now that I rewatch this scene at 21:44, the words Anis used is also the type of words used when a guy is asking a girl to go out with him. No wonder Euphie was blushing when Anis said that

That scene where Euphie catches Anis deep on a couple of levels. One because Euphie is committing to being there to save Anis, just as she was saved. Two, as has been stated in the past this world has no flight magic, Anis used past life knowledge to create a flying broom, but the idea of flying magically by spell alone is mocked as a childish or adolescent dream. Euphie flew to save Anis. Euphie, in her desperation to reach Anis, created flight magic to mimic what Anis' broom could do. This episode is a bit of a mold breaking moment for Euphie, just an episode or two ago she was begging Anis to tell her what to do, to give her a role to fill, because that's all she's known. This episode, Anis give her that order, support the fighters fighting the monsters, and she almost immediately breaks out of that role, and goes to help Anis with her magic. She's changed enough since the prince dumped her, even if she didn't realize it herself, that she's starting to make decisions on her own, for herself. She's decided that Anis is more important to her, than the order Anis gave her, more important than a role to fill, more important than the conventional magical wisdom that says flight magic is a child's dream. It's easy to miss the depth of that moment, in the action of all the fighting, but it's there.

I've been waiting for y'all to get to this episode! Episodes 8-9 and 10-11 really should be watched together for the flow of the show since y'all are behind and can do that.

This is where the story actually starts, everything before this was just like an intro. For a 12 episode anime that seems extremely excessive, unless a 2nd cour is guaranteed.

Actually the world DOES have flight magic, but like only 1% of the 1% can mostly use it. I mean Dragons are already using flight magic (albeit their wings generate said magic passively, without said magic they would be too heavy to fly as pointed out this episode due to sheer biomass amount). Like think of magic-based flight being something only Heroes in legends can use tier of shit (which since they did earlier say that Euphie is beloved by the Spirits (she can use all the attributes, whereas most could generally only 1 or maybe 2/3 max, at least in current time as far as anyone alive can tell or recent history), she could be argued to be of similar tier albeit not fully realized due to sheer lack of experience & all that)
