I’m listening to your beginning talk rn and me personally I watched it in both. Originally in sub then in dub to show a friend. I do think this is one of those anime where they did an amazing job on the dub so either way should be totally fine. Obviously certain people online only like things one way or the other though😂

I liked the Japanese more, but the subtitles are so terrible its really hard to watch it in Japanese. Like, even with a little Japanese knowledge you know the subs arent lining up

9:30 he was watching called a BD (brain dance). It’s pretty much like memories of someone that have been modified and put in a way that you can view it. For example the big guy killing everyone in the beginning had his memory put on that chip our main character was holding and he relived that memory feeling all the emotions and feelings that big dude went through

Yeah I'm all for the dub on this one. The subtitles are full or errors, and also.. it's studio Trigger. They go nuts with the animation sometimes, and I felt like I could enjoy all their hard work more, when not having to pay attention to the subs.

I think because the show takes place in more of a melting pot area of actual races/cultures instead of just japanese culture or just fantasy tropes the dub does a better job fleshing out its character making them more relatable to people who live over here. But hey the show is still good regardless

Yessir!!!! Dub is up baby. Also as a Jami supporter we pulled thru for dub in the poll on Patreon at least idk where else she ran one. I was surprised that it actually won tho. It was very close.

Phenomenal first episode. David's drip is elite 🔥 Love the back to back banger ost's they are so fire, it gives hip hop lofi beats vibes. Glad y'all watched this in dub. I'm a dub person anyways so its a win win situation for me 😂 Zach Aguilar voices David and he did a great job. He's a dope voice actor, he also voices Tanjiro in dub. That was sad what happened to his mom. Serious and sad moment but when Dnasty said "she rolled down like a pepsi cola" that took me out 🤣

There was indeed a mod to have sex with Johnny Silverhand/Keanu. It was taken down recently, though I don't know any details on that. Keanu was actually excited regarding it when he was told during an interview (interview is the one regarding the Unreal Engine Matrix tech demo, about 16ish minutes into it) but that was mostly due to his excitement of the tech itself, something he's loved to see grow since he did the origina Matrix. I'm primarily a dub watcher, and will do dub over sub unless its just really badly done and I always appreciate the dubs that stand out as being excellent, this being one of them.

Yeah I actually watched this show in dub just to see and I liked it. I love watching in sub because it sounds ways better but can’t complain about the dub

The thing at the start that David was watching was a BD, it's basically a downloaded memory of someone else, people in Cyberpunk use it as entertainment. Someone recorded that attack from the big guy's perspective and David was reliving his expreriences. That's why the Doc said it's really fresh, it just happened.

I’m team Sub always, but this series is the exception. The cyberpunk slang is missing from the sub and slangs helps a lot to paint this universe. Plus we, as a western audience, don’t recognize accents in Japanese but in English we get the idea of how diverse Night city is thanks to the different accents from the dub.

Having played the game, dub is definitely way better. And I say this as someone who usually always prefers sub over dub. It's just more authentic that way because slang doesn't translate. Wouldn't be Night City if people didn't say "choom".

Videogame = Polish creators. cyberpunk as a concept and eventual tabletop RPG from the 80s = African American creator named Mike Pondsmith. Mike doesn’t get enough credit. People running around thinking about the video game and it’s Polish developers as the creators of Cyberpunk but all they did was make a game based on an existing world/concept.

I watched the sub first but I didn't like the translation so I switched to dub. Both dubs are good but I prefer English dub because I finished the game and it feels organic. PS. I voted for Fairytail sub at Ruff's patreon and drop when he switched to dub lol. I didn't realize Fairytail sub/dub fanbase is toxic.

I watched it in sub, it was good, but I imagine that if they got decent voice actors with the right spread of Hispanic, Japanese, Chinese, and different American accents then the dub will probably be pretty great

Just think there so much missed in dub, the accents, the origins of characters, the slang, etc, even reading the voice calls in that small font, so tiring, nothing against sub ofc since I watch everything else in sub

Without even talking about the difference in the quality of the voice acting in the majority of the shows, people seriously don't take into account that a lot of "anime watchers" may not actually have english as their native language right ? Sub / Dub is the same to me, both foreign languages, so my sole concern is the quality of the work you know. Just a genuine question, i'm always surprised at the sub/dub arguments.

i just pulled up the anime on my end and turned the volume up so i cant hear the dub on their end it works out
